And why does she go by Greenlee any way? That is her last name from a man that wasn't even her real father. If she wants to use her father's last name as her first name we would have to call her Montgomery. LAME

To have Greenlee return and go nuclear all over everyone because they "moved on without her" while she was thought to be dead has been done before and done to death. That's the way she returned when she came back from her run-away stay in Europe expecting everyone to have stood still. When things didn't turn out as she'd expected them to, she went ballistic and ended up kidnapping Spike and injuring him in an auto accident. She caused a lot of real and emotional damage before she came to her senses.

It would be a disservice to her character to show that the character is incapable of growth, maturity and forgiveness. She's not stupid. She knows people don't wait for dead people to come back from the grave for them to be together again, even in a soap with hack writers. That kind of storyline would be BORING.

It's bad enough that the character of David Hayward hasn't yet been gutted like a fish and left flopping on a riverbank. That would certainly relieve the boredom he brings to this show. The man has already poisoned everyone in Pine Valley, at least once. He's already kidnapped and hidden away half of Pine Valley, at least once. He's already blackmailed just about everyone in Pine Valley, at least once. Now, the character is threatening to take Greenlee down with him. If he continues as part of her storyline as the writers' way of increasing tension, I'll be fast-forwarding through all the scenes with Greenlee as I currently do with any scenes David has with anyone else. He takes boredom to a level that actually requires pain medication. To David, Greenlee is merely a vanity mirror that he can hold up, look into, and say, "I'm not such a bad guy. See, I'm good to Greenlee. I love Greenlee."

There is no softer side to David. The character is irredeemably evil and self-centered. Even he doesn't believe anyone is out to get him. He fully comprehends that people rightfully and justifiably hate him.

Let Greenlee forgive Ryan, admit she still loves him, and show that the character has some capacity for growth. People who don't grow and change over the years, even beloved characters, become caricatures of themselves. They become boring, predictable and ordinary.
