Episode Name: "Remember Me as a Time of Day"
Season Six, Episode Twenty-Four
Welcome home, baby girl Scott!
Recap by Jaime Leon Lin-Yu
In a Word: Tonight's tagline: Dreams come true every day. Lucas brings his family home. Brooke goes after Julian. Nathan joins the NBA.
The Action: Moments after their wedding, Peyton collapses into a bloody heap on the floor of her bedroom. Lucas rushes her to the hospital where he's joined by Brooke, Haley, Nathan and Julian. Peyton wakes up in the middle of surgery, wide-eyed and scared. Creepy, right? Cut to the middle of the night. A baby cries. It's a girl! (We know because she's wearing pink.) Lucas cuddles her, saying Daddy is here. That's nice, but where is Mommy?
Mommy's still in the hospital. The next morning, Lucas begs Peyton to wake up. She's been "asleep" for several days now. Their daughter is home and she needs a name. Lucas goes on and on about how he needs Peyton and god damn it, their daughter doesn't have a name! Peyton finally wakes up probably because she's so annoyed that Lucas won't let her get any rest. She tells him their daughter does indeed have a name. Is it Anna after Peyton's adopted mom or Elizabeth after Peyton's biological mom? Nope, it's Sawyer, after herself. Welcome to the world, Sawyer Scott, or as Brooke will call her, S. Scott.
Brooke, who hasn't left the hospital since Peyton was brought in, goes and gets Karen, who brings baby Sawyer in. Lucas looks surprised to see his mom. Well, who does he think was watching his daughter? As Peyton kisses her newborn daughter, her friends come in. So much for privacy for the brand new family. Later, Karen helps Peyton settle into the nursery at home, where Peyton thanks Karen for raising Lucas right. Karen plays modest, but we agree. Karen was like the best single mom ever, running her café, and raising a punk like Lucas. Later, Karen joins Lucas on the front steps and gives him a letter from his little sister Lily. He thanks his mom for being the greatest single mom ever. See, even Lucas agrees with us! He does a lame magic trick for her to prove he can still see the magic in the world. Corny!
