Despite being the home of jealousy, betrayal, and the occasional baby-swapping, Llanview, Pennsylvania, is where the Buchanan, Lord, and Cramer families struggle to retain the strong ties that have united them (and kept us entertained!) for over 40 years. And from racial prejudice to gang violence to homophobia, this Emmy-winning show has seen it all.

One Life To Live has always been known for focusing on cultural and socioeconomic differences between its core characters. And with the outrageously wealthy (and dysfunctional) Southern family the Buchanans, the dedicated cops and struggling twentysomethings of Angel Square, the independent femmes fatale of the Cramer family, the strong-minded teens at Llanview High School, the publishing Lords, and the fiercely loyal, working-class Evans family, that's a tradition that most certainly continues today.

Erika Slezak portrays the town matriarch and heir to the Lord publishing fortune, Viki Lord Davidson, who's constantly at odds with longtime nemesis Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser). And lucky for us, the two rivals are forever tied by the hot-blooded, on/off coupling of bad boy Todd Manning (Viki's brother, played by Trevor St. John) and Blair Cramer (Dorian's niece, played by Kassie DePaiva) and young lovers Cole Thornhart and Starr Manning (Brandon Buddy and Kristen Alderson). These fictional characters are just a few of the recognizable faces in Llanview. The town has also had an impressive group of musical talent stop by, including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado, The All-American Rejects, the Pussycat Dolls, and Timbaland, among others.

Created by Agnes Nixon, One Life to Live premiered on July 15, 1968.
