Recap by Sarah Tatting
In a Word: The last episode and final farewell for all of the characters we know and love.
The Action: Josh calls Reva and says he needs to see her. When she arrives at Cross Creek, Josh tells her that his plans have changed. He’s going to Tulsa to oversee a new wing at the H.B. Lewis Memorial Hospital. Tears spring to Reva’s eyes at the thought of H.B. and she says, "You should be there." She wonders how he went from Venezuela to Oklahoma so quickly. Were there any more plans in between? Josh’s face turns serious and he says there was. He was planning to kidnap her and drag her to the closest justice of the peace to marry him. "I love you, Reva. Always have, always will."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Reva starts to walk away. Josh rushes over and apologizes. He didn’t mean to upset her. "I love you too, Bud," Reva admits. "Always have, always will. But I’m not ... " Josh finishes her sentence. "You’re not ready." He knows that and he’s not ready either. But that doesn’t change the fact that he loves her. That every part of him is designed to be with her.
So, Josh has an idea. One year from today, at 12 noon, he’ll be at the lighthouse, waiting for her. If life has brought her to a place where she’s ready, and wants to be with him, then he’ll be there, too.
Josh takes off in his truck while Reva watches him go. Billy arrives shortly after and Reva says he just missed his brother. "What are you going to do," Billy asks, "in a year ... " Reva realizes Josh shared his plan with Billy. Of course he did. "I don’t know," she answers, sincerely. Later, Mindy gives Billy the best news ever: She’s moving back to Springfield!

first of all let me tell you im a man 36yrs old.i can always remember comming home from school and watching the award winning guiding light with my mom she was a big fan follower and which in turn made me one it gave me something for me and my mother to talk about being so young my mom didnt really understand me im not sure any parent really understands their children at that age but it gave us a common ground for us to talk the very first couple that i can remember having fond memories are of (beth and lujack) i remember she was first with phillip spalding but when lujack came into the picture and things developed between the two i always wished for something like that to happen to me well im still waiting for it (lol) i understand it was just a t.v show but it took me places that no other show ever has through the years their were times that i stopped watching the show like when they were killing off my faveriot charactors like lujack but id always find another couple to follow no dissrespect to the beth that ended the show but i feel that the first beth was much stronger person after having surrived a rape by her stepfather (bradly raines) and the kind of woman she turned out to be i wished the show could have kept her i know that sometimes a show replaces actors to play the part and some times it works but sometimes it dont like when they replaced phillip that guy didnt really play him in the way he deserived but gl always found a way to keep the same reva & josh another great couple who somehow surrived the test of time and contracts well thats enough for know i do have other stories and couples to bring up but that's enough for know i'll write more later thank you for giving me a place to voice my opinnion about gl a show that i will miss for many reasons and years to come may and good luck to the cast on their future adventures
I loved the Guiding Light and did not ever think it would go off the air. I really wish it would come back somehow, someway!!
I really miss the Guiding Light missed the last episode would like to know how i can see it,also i did'nt like the part of Allen dying it was so sad i cryed. Hope from Georgia
I see how the ended all the storylines except one. I don't know if I miss it or what but what happened after Jeffrey and Edmund saw and was talking to each other. How did that situation end? If anybody knows, please respond.
I loved the finale, especially Josh and Reva's storyline. Robert and Kim did a wonderful job as did the rest of the cast. I miss GL terribly and anticipate watching the last episodes over and over!
Is the finale ever going to play again? I unfortunately missed it.
