Welcome to Stars Hollow, CT, where we meet headstrong Lorelai Gilmore and her equally willful teenage daughter, Rory. Alexis was in film school at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts when she was cast as Rory on "Gilmore Girls." Despite the all-American girl role, Alexis's background is super-diverse -- her mom is Mexican and her father is Danish-Argentinian. She also has a younger brother, Eric. Though Alexis has largely stayed out of the tabloids, she dated "Gilmore Girls" costar Milo Ventimiglia for over three years. The couple split in 2006. Alexis lucked out with her very first role as Rory Gilmore -- she played the dutiful daughter for 7 seasons, winning a Family Television Award, 2 Teen Choice Awards, and a Young Artist Award. In film, Alexis has starred in "Tuck Everlasting," "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and its sequel, and "Sin City." She has two movies due out in 2009 -- "The Post-Grad Survival Guide," opposite "Friday Night Lights" actor Zach Gilford, and "The Good Guy," opposite "Friday Night Lights" actor Scott Porter. Girl's got good taste!
Alexis's first language was Spanish.
