New England born and raised, Lauren Koslow has had her eyes set on the entertainment industry since she was old enough to walk. She graduated with a theatre degree, specializing in costume design, from Virginia State University and worked for a summer stock theatre group in Virginia as a costume designer. While working with the group, she was asked to audition for a role of Ten Little Indians. From that point on, Lauren put the costumes down and took center stage. She's appeared in regional productions such as The Importance of Being Earnest and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She moved to Los Angeles and landed roles in shows such as House Calls and The A-Team.
Lauran took acting classes after getting to L.A., where she met a producer for The Young and the Restless who encouraged her to audition for the series. She won the role and met her husband, makeup artist Nick Schillace. From Y&R, Kate was cast as fashion designer Margo Lynley on The Bold and the Beautiful. In 1996, Lauren took over the role of Kate Roberts and was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2001.
Lauren is the proud mother of two, Zachariah and Milikate. When she's not working, Lauren is playing zookeeper to her family's animals; they have three lizards, a talking parrot, three dogs, a cat, and a few horses.
