As you prepare to settle in for the long Thanksgiving holiday, allow us to recommend you familiarize yourselves with the various soap schedules. After all, there's no better accompaniment to a food coma than some good daytime TV. Of course, some shows will be pre-empted, as usual, for things like college football (a soap opera in its own right). So let's see what's airing what:

The ABC soaps are all pre-empted on Friday, but they'll be airing encore episodes on Thursday. All My Children will present the labor-filled episode where Amanda gives birth ... and Liza pretends to give birth. On One Life to Live, re-live the episode where Blair came tumbling out that second-story window. And on General Hospital, you get a second chance to watch James Franco's GH debut from last week. So when your gathered family starts talking about this movie star that's supposed to be on a soap now, you can gather them around the tube and show them.

As for the CBS shows: As the World Turns and The Bold and the Beautiful are both pre-empted on Thursday and Friday, while The Young and the Restless is airing encore episodes both days.
