This morning, on CBS's Early Show, One Life to Live's Bree Williamson and The Doctors's Travis Stork were on hand to announce the nominations for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. All My Children, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and last year's champ The Bold and the Beautiful got the biggest kudos as nominees for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. And Agnes Nixon will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. Well deserved, if you ask us.
General Hospital led the daytime drama field with 18 nominations, including acting nods for Sarah Brown (Claudia), Julie Berman (Lulu), Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), and Jonathan Jackson (Lucky). The Young & the Restless followed up with 16 nominations, while As the World Turns and One Life to Live took 13 each. Guiding Light, which ended its run in September, still scored nods for stars Crystal Chappell, Beth Chamberlin, and Zack Conroy. The Bold and the Beautiful is once again nominated for Best Drama Series, the award it won last year.
