Not giving in while the TPTB and the “Themmy” entitles get off easy! Meanwhile, the fans of MB will be gracious enough in return not to trash other personal favs so that their fans can enjoy them! For the record, MB character was never written this way until recently! Prior to this he was written as a vigilante and partnered with Jason!

I agree that the recent rewrite of Sonny and his storyline history is along the lines of racial profiling and have written many letters to TPTB re: the matter! Especially since they have rewritten Jason as the exact opposite, “a hero” even! They have even gone as far as to take most of Sonny’s positive attributes ( since he was the original character in the storyline) rewriting them as Jason’s!

MB took a brief role and developed layers to the character that bridged into honor, respect and dignity! Now TPTB raises the issue of criminality, but only with MB! Mr. Benard worked twice as hard to develop not only a non-stereotypical character but a storyline that has opened the door to many other characters ( though so few have been other minorities). So, if rewrites were in order, why didn’t they do so with Steve Burton’s character, Jason since he was added to MB’s storyline?

Re: the issue of other more positive diversity characters, where are they? Which is why I also take issue with TPTB’s attempts to trash Sonny after MB’s initial Emmy win! Clearly MB has the talent to take the character in any direction, so again why was one of the few diversity leading males rewritten in such a negative way! Again, many of us view this as a bold attempt by ABC/Disney to sabotage their only diversity leading male! Those efforts also include the sudden recast of Drew G & the changes to writing of his kids. Now if Guza and Co were really this conflicted over the issues of morality & law and order why wasn’t MB invited to read for a part as a doctor, a lawyer or even a cop? Oh that’s right, most casting directors don’t see diversity males in those roles, but now they want to make MB (the actor) a fall guy for their writing decisions?

I respect MB for taking a six month role and making it a 2 decade long success, for propping other actors, like Drew, all the while overcoming Bi-polar disorder! What are the excuses for ABC/Disney, Guza & even the Emmy’s regarding their attempts to maintain a anti-diversity status quo!

Melissa Claire Egan was SHUT OUT AGAIN. Annie (Lavery) Chandler for months showed to be an amazing character and Melissa has played her so well for years but over the past year or so she REALLY shined as a Lead Actress and should have been nominated for this reason. I ONLY started watching All My Children again because of her storyline with Adam, Scott and Jr.

On the up-side I am beyond happy that Bradford Anderson was nominated again. Spinelli is one of the most unappreciated soap characters out there and we've only seen a little of how far General Hospital can push him. CONGRATULATIONS BA.

WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE THOUGH, IF Mr. Benard's NETWORK WOULD HAVE HAD HIS BACK RATHER THAN COMPROMISING HIS CHANCES BY MAKING HIM DO SCENE HE DIDN'T WANT TO DO (THE SHOOTING SCENCE). And then by expecting that Mr. Benard, give interviews to defend their writing choices!

What's more important is that Sonny (Mr. Benard) is a favorite of the fan who tune in to see him on a daily basis! On the otherhand, the "Themmys" (as they are known in certain circles) almost didn't find a network to air them this year and still aren't guaranteed an audience. I just received my fan packet with autographed pics of Mr. Benard (*thank U)! Now THAT rates as a WOW MOMENT!

I am thrilled for Drew Garrett also. I hope they bring him back. I didn't think anyone could ever replace Sarah Brown as Carly but Laura Wright has been great. I really think she should have gotten a nomination

Sarah Joy Brown was brilliant to even make a horrendous character like Claudia Z watchable. They should have brought her back to play Carly though.... so she would still be on canvas. What a waste.

How pathetic that neither of GH lead male actors made the grade.... certainly not because of the acting, but because the writing was so horrible it gave them nothing to play. What a travesty wasting the talent of Tony Geary like they did this year... what happened to the Valentine Story?????????

What about Laura Wright, Carly? she has been wonderful the last 2 yrs.She at least should be nominated.
I think Carolyn Hennesy is GREAT too.

I am so sad that David Canary was nor nominated. He by far is a genuine jewel, and to leave him out is a shame!!After 28 years, he has proven that he is a daytime icon, and the daytime tv world has lost one of the very best!!
I don't care to watch anymore, when he left Pine Valley, he took this fan with him, and the Emmys mean even less....

Congrats to all the nominees on General Hospital...this show has really rocked this year. Good luck Carolyn Hennesey, you are the best. Also, congrats to all those on Y&R...good job. Can't wait to see the awards show...

Congrats to all of the nominees. I was not happy that David Canary (Adam, AMC) was not included in Lead Actor, as I personally feel he has had some of the best work of any Lead Actor this past year, but forgot that his story just wrapped up. Hopefully, the committee will look at it next year, and give him a well deserved nomination.
