It's St. Patrick's Day on Wednesday, March 17th -- and all those green outfits, tinted pints of beer, and renditions of "Danny Boy" have us thinking about one of the great soaps of all time, Ryan's Hope. The 1975-89 show centered around the Ryan family -- Irish immigrant Maeve, her beloved husband Johnny, and their kids: reporter Mary, cop Siobhan, doctor Pat, and politician Frank (we're not forgetting about Kathleen, but she was basically never on). Along with the extended family and friends (like schemers Delia Reid and Roger Coleridge, his upstanding sister Jillian, and man's man Jack Fenelli), the Ryans provided a grounded, realistic portrayal of a working class Irish-American family.
So with that stroll down memory lane, why don't you see if you have the luck o' the Irish and match up with your favorite Ryan's Hope character. Take our "Which Ryan Are You?" quiz now.
And don't forget -- you can still catch Ryan's Hope on SOAPnet every weekday from 5AM to 6AM (don't worry ... if you're not up at that hour, that's what DVRs are for!).

AH COME ON! BRING IT BACK! SOAPNET WILL BE OFF THE AIR SOON ENOUGH - AT LEAST LET US WATCH RYAN'S HOPE TILL THEN! WE KNOW YOU CAN DO IT...THAT'S RIGHT...JUST PUSH THAT LITTLE PROGRAMMING BUTTON...YOU CAN DO IT....GO AHEAD...YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO....
I looked forward to seeing Ryan's Hope every morning. Why would you take it off. So much enjoyment and love is there. Not interested in OC and other shows . Thank god we can still see General Hospital and One Life to Live. Please put Ryan's Hope on again as its a wonderful show i look forward too. Im heart broken that you don't care about all of us watching our favorites. Every morning drank my coffee and watched the show. im so disapointed that you would keep the other shows on, think about us okay. This show had alot of love and action to it. Thank you for listening to me, as im a big fan of 40 years of All My Children and Ryan's hope. Don't stop cold on the story.
YEAH I agree wholeheartedly. They stopped at the Egyptian mystery which I wanted to see again and now again they have stopped after Delia bought the bed. Since soapnet has all these ABC episodes why not go ahead and keep going with them? ABC executives dont seem to care about us at all anymore.
I cant believe you air so many episodes of 90210 and One Tree Hill...programs I never watch. Why not continue Ryan's Hope, and possibly air others such as Another World, Search For Tomorrow, etc....the fans of SoapNet want to see the oldies but goodies. Thanks,
Why have you taken off RYAN'S HOPE AGAIN???? What's up with that?? I would like for you to bring the show back. Where else can i complain??
As a young girl, every summer, I would watch All My Children and Ryan's Hope with my grandmother and aunt. I was very excited in later years when my cable company offered Soapnet. I began watching Ryan's Hope from the beginning and was dumbfounded when it abruptly stopped and started from the beginning. It did this twice. I don't think it got halfway through the series. If Soapnet wants to keep their viewers happy, they need to purchase the rights for all the years Ryan's Hope was on the air and air the show from start to finish and then start it again. Also, you need to show Ryan's Hope on-line in it's entirety. Not everyone has cable or satellite television. Thank you for your consideration.
It is not Marie Currah!!!
LOL
I to am confuse why you stop the Ryan's Hope in the story line of Marie Currah, and would like to know if you are going to pick it back up since you started the soap from the begining. Please let us viewer know why and if we are going to get to see the conplete show. thanks
I love Ryan's hope. Watched it back in the day; but I heard you don't have the rights to it past 1981. Who were the 4 Patrick Ryans that were on and pictures, and what are they doing?
Just when the story line was getting hot you start the series over. I love this show. Please Please go back to the marie currah story line and let the series finish out.
