Wally Kurth, who played Justin Kiriakis on "Days of our Lives" from 1987 until 1991, has signed on to return to the role in August. Justin is the nephew of Victor Kiriakis and thus the cousin of both Philip and Brady. With all the recent questions about Kiriakis family loyalty and circling the wagons against the DiMeras, it will be interesting to see if Justin's interests end up aligning with Uncle Victor's ... or opposed to them.

Wally is of course best known as remarkably stable Quartermaine heir Ned Ashton, though he hasn't been a regular on "General Hospital" since 2005 (he has recurred, off and on, since then). More recently, Wally appeared on "As The World Turns" as Sam Hutchins.

It may be worth mentioning this trivia nugget: Justin and his wife Adrienne (Judi Evans, who needs to be back on daytime ASAP) were the first Salem-ites to ever encounter one Carly Manning, and in fact encouraged her to come to Salem in the first place. And now Carly is set to return to Salem in October! Coincidence?

Wally's first re-appearance as Justin is scheduled for August 10th.
