From crime-solving teenager Veronica Mars and her private investigator father Keith, to the popular, affluent crowd of high schoolers known as the 09ers, the seaside town of Neptune, California is filled with a whole host of characters stirring up mysteries for Veronica to untangle. Get to know some of Neptune's most prominent residents:

Veronica Mars, played by Kristen Bell, is a smart, witty high school (and later college) student who, after the murder of her best friend – a scandal that cost her father his job, his home, and his wife, and turned Veronica into an outcast at school – begins moonlighting as a private investigator and dedicating her life to solving the mysteries of affluent Neptune, CA.

Lilly Kane, played by Amanda Seyfried, was Veronica's best friend before her murder shook the town of Neptune and changed the lives of Veronica and her father.

Wallace Fennel, portrayed by Percy Daggs III, becomes Veronica's best friend in the aftermath of Lilly's murder, and often helps her get to the bottom of Neptune's mysteries and crimes.

Logan Echolls, played by Jason Dohring, is the son of a famous actor, a rebellious 09er, the former boyfriend of Lilly Kane, and a fellow student that Veronica has an antagonistic relationship with.

Duncan Kane, played by Teddy Dunn, is Lilly's brother and Veronica's ex-boyfriend.

Keith Mars, Veronica's father, is portrayed by Enrico Colantoni. The former sheriff of Balboa County, Keith was ousted from his position after Lilly's murder, but soon opened his own private detective agency, where his daughter works as his assistant.

Don Lamb, played by Michael Muhney (best known as Adam on The Young and the Restless), replaced Keith as Balboa County Sheriff after winning a recall election.

Eli "Weevil Navarro, portrayed by Francis Capra, is the leader of the PCH biker gang and an unlikely friend of Veronica's.

Jackie Cook, portrayed by Tessa Thompson, is the daughter of a famous baseball player who becomes romantically involved with Wallace.

Dick Casablancas, played by Ryan Hansen, is a friend of Logan Echolls. A womanizing 09er, Dick was a bully at Neptune High, and became a frat boy at Neptune's Hearst College.

Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas, played by Kyle Gallner, is the introverted little brother of Dick Casablancas.

Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie, portrayed by Tina Majorino, is a computer expert and one of Veronica's few friends after Lilly's murder.

Mallory Dent, played by Sydney Tamiia Poitier, is one of Veronica's teachers at Neptune High, and helped Veronica uncover a voting scam with the school elections.
