Vanessa Marcil Returning to GH!

Vanessa Marcil Returning to GH!Emmy-winning actress Vanessa Marcil has signed on to return to the role that made her a favorite of the General Hospital fans: Brenda Barrett. Vanessa created the role in 1992, and in 2003, she won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

 

"True to form," says ABC Daytime president Brian Frons, "Brenda arrives in Port Charles with a secret that will impact Sonny, Jax, and Jason." This secret is said to be explosive and bound to hurl quite a few lives into chaos.

 

"We are so thrilled to welcome Vanessa Marcil home to General Hospital. Vanessa is a wonderful, talented actress and her portrayal of Brenda makes her a force of nature in Port Charles," says executive producer Jill Farren Phelps.

"I feel so lucky to continue to be allowed to visit General Hospital and honor where I came from," says Vanessa. "I am humbled by these great people and a character that I truly love."

 

Last time we saw Brenda, she was leaving Port Charles after some serious emotional pinball between Jax and Sonny. The two great romances of her life -- though some of us hold a candle for her marriage of convenience with Jason -- and by the end, she still didn't know who she'd choose. Think she'll pick up where she left off?

 

Vanessa's first air date is set for August 11th. Mark those calendars now!

I am thrilled that Vanessa is returning, it's about time.We need a good triangle for a while (Jax, Brenda and Sonny) together again. Keep Jason out of jail so he can be there for whomever, give Lucky a love interest (Claire would be good). She wants a baby and he can be the father this time. I have to agree that Christina's behavior is out of control and no parent would allow this regardless of the circumstanses so clean it up ok?

I AGREE WITH TJWM61. I LOVE SONNY AND ESPECIALLY JASON, BUT ENOUGH WITH THE MOB WARS. ESPECIALLY JOHNNY, WE SEE ENOUGH FIGHTING AND KILLING IN THE WORLD. i absolutely love brenda,i am so excited she's coming back.she and sonny were always perfect for each other,they have always belonged together.i believe he's never loved anyone as much as he loves brenda,they were so awesome together.god i hope they reunite them,put them back together,i never liked her with jax,and if she does have a baby,oh please let it be sonny's and i hope it's a girl,vanessa you are a very beautiful and talented actress,i was so upset when you left the first time,i hope you stay for a long time this time.and im thinking maybe franco is brenda's brother.i can't wait for august 11,welcome back vanessa.

Welcome home Vanessa!! I so hope they put her and Sonny together. He deserves to be happy and with the person he has always belonged with. Jax and Carly need to take a leap off some building somewhere.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I AM SO EXCITIED THAT VANESSA IS COMING BACK TO REPRISE HER ROLE AS BRENDA. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER. I LOVE BRENDA AND SONNY TOGETHER. WHEN THEY WERE TOGETHER WE GOT TO SEE THE ROMANTIC SIDE OF SONNY. BRENDA IS AND ALWAYS BE HIS SOUL MATE. SAME FOR HER. MAYBE SHE CAN TALK SOME SINCE INTO KRISTINA. SONNY WAS NEVER ABUSIVE TO HER. I agree with you 100% this little girl is out of control, if I talked to my parents like she does, I will nvr be able to leave the house. and too hear a mother say I can't hande her is crazy to me. she is a 17 yrs old kid, she is not a adult. wow the writers need to correct this image ASAP
