Every once in awhile, when we let ourselves get a little too analytical, we find ourselves wondering: What's with the crime spree in Tree Hill? This season alone we've seen shoplifting, breaking and entering, kidnapping, imprisonment, an axe-wielding nanny, mugging, and murder. People haven't been this prone to accident in a small town since "Murder, She Wrote"'s Cabot Cove!

Thankfully, before we call the Feds and tell them to focus their search for any and all evil-doers on this fictional North Carolina hamlet, we remember that as perilous as it is for its residents, we wouldn't want our Tree Hill any other way.

And so, we dedicate this slideshow to the villains of "One Tree Hill," both big and small. Thanks for keeping things kooky, you jerks.
