I am from Louisville!!! Julie should date WHO SHE likes. RC Madison, you should not watch the show; clearly., I know of Southern families like Shea's. I live away from Louisville now, I am completely enjoying this show!!
yeah i agree rv777721
i mean, just because of what she looks like, she can date whomever she would like. obviously the women in the show told kellie who they would prefer to date, kellies mom clearly was fine with caucasian or african american men and perhaps julie prefered a caucasian, shes happy, who knows the details............kellie is really cool and not racist love her
Sorry to disagree, but these "girls" are a little shop worn. They want rich husbands, planes, diamonds and a bottomless checkbook. But, and a big but WHAT HAVE THEY GOT TO OFFER IN RETURN? They are all 30ish. A man with all that going for them who wants to start a family, needs someone without fertility problems, who is healthy enough to give him and him alone herself. NOT A PIECE OF USED GOODS PASSED AROUND, THESE WOMEN WANT A LOT BUT DON'T HAVE A LOT TO OFFER BACK. SORRY, IT'S A ????????????? SHOW, ABC COULD HAVE DONE BETTER THAN THIS. i'M A WHITE NORTHERN WOMAN, THESE WOMEN HAVE NOTHING UNIQUE TO OFFER A MAN WHO HAS IT ALL.
I enjoy Soapnet and Southern Belles in partciular. I hope this show goes into a second season. All of the young women are beautiful, intelligent and well-spoken. Watching them is very interesting and a much needed alternative to the "housewives" series. My concern is for Julie and her prosepcts for a fulfilling relationship. Either Julie and/or the series producers have restricted her dating choices so far to white men. I am an older African-American women of Julie's mother's generation. In this age of Obama, I believe that it is sign of progress that younger people are dating more without making race the first screening issue. However, I believe that if Julie is to have a better chance of dating success, she and the show's producers need to broaden her dating horizons by including more venues in the show that are likely to include elible and successful African-American men, either in a profession, the arts or in the entertainment field. Studies show that in black/white dating in America the black partner is usually the man, as depicted in the show when Kelly matched her mother with an African American gentleman. Confining Julie to dating only southern white men gives the show a lack of authenticity , when it is truly authentic in its portrayal of the lives of the other women on the show. I would be very interested in the perceptions of other fans on this issue.
