The nominees for the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards have been announced, and among the movies, primetime TV, and journalists recognized, GLAAD recognized four daytime dramas for their commitment to responsible gay and lesbian storylines. Those four nominated shows were All My Children, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, and One Life to Live.
AMC, you'll recall, had the storyline of Bianca and Reese in the early part of the year, which featured the first ever gay wedding in daytime. As the World Turns and Guiding Light both featured popular couples Noah and Luke, and Olivia and Natalia, respectively. And OLTL not only featured Oliver Fish coming out, plus his subsequent relationship with Kyle, but also Dorian's politically-charged advocacy for gay marriage.
The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 13th at the Marriott Marquis; in Los Angeles on April 17th at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza; and in San Francisco on June 5th at The Westin St. Francis.
