SOAPnet Interviews "Evil Adam"

I spoke with [head writer] Maria Arena Bell about this early on, before the storyline started playing out, and she and I both were on the same page that in order for this story truly to work, whatever end the story has, he has to truly, truly be in love with her. Because if he's manipulating her in any way, or it's a ruse, then I think he is about as cruel as a human being can be (if you would even classify someone that cruel as a human being).

 

Initially he took an interest in her because he saw such a bright light in her -- someone who had gone through something so tragic, and of course, he felt so guilty. He wasn't hanging around her to protect himself or to cover his tracks or to monitor her ... that makes no sense. The best thing to do -- there's no witnesses, there's nobody who knows anything -- just get out of dodge. But he put himself in harm's way because he was so intrigued by her and so drawn to her. And there's a strong correlation to [Adam's mother] Hope: someone who's a very good mother, who's very passive, sweet, understanding, kind, and forgiving -- but also a very strong person underneath it all. He sees the strength in Sharon.

 

It's funny to hear people say: 'Oh, they got married after a month.' I don't understand when people started looking at their calendars, but they had been talking and having wine and opening up to one another one-on-one a month before Halloween came around. And then there was a significant amount of build-up in the relationship to Thanksgiving, and then, of course, to Christmas. Over the months, he has done the one thing that I think he feels he would never fall victim to, and that's give in to his emotion. He's fallen deeply in love with her.

 

He has found that there's a by-product to this -- that it gets under Nick's skin and Jack's skin, to say the very least. There's a bonus there, but that's certainly not the reason to be with her. If that was his motive, he could have easily, in my opinion, just continued to date her, and it would have infuriated everyone. But to get married takes it to a level where it's just not a game anymore. Like he said on New Year's Eve when he and Sharon were laying in the hospital bed -- he loves her enough for the both of them. He understands and embraces the fact that she has a past, and a history with Nick, but he believes he can be a part of her future. I think he's not delusional to believe that, because after all, they're married now!

 

When you play that he truly is in love with her, then you heighten all the emotions, you raise all the stakes. Because now the things he did to her before he really knew her become so painful to him. And he can be so guilt-ridden, but what do you do? Do you put the baby back in her arms, but then you lose everything? She built up her strength, she's a strong person now, and he's madly in love, and they have this wonderful life together ... does that all go away?"

Phyllis isn't going anywhere,she's a fighter and she'll be fine,I think! She must get control of her fear of Nick & Sharon getting back together or she'll make it very easy for them to.Michelle Stafford is an awesome actress.

Think about it.... without Adam's storyline the show will be a big bore!!!yawn.... He is no worse than Jack and Victor....always bending the law to suit their needs and wants....Time for a YOUNG villain...to torment the families and let Jack and Victor take a vacation...Keep Adam he is the guy we all love to hate!! Boo Hoo Sharon and Ashley!! Keep us on the edge of our seats....good storyline!! Adam is just following in "BIG daddy's footsteps" arrogant and manipulative!!
ps ...all the babies on the soaps have the question....

I am tired of Adam getting away with things so good he is getting caught, and it is time for the daisy and rider story to end no one person should have that much power to continue to hurt and harm someone and get by with it now if these are shelia kids or what I know if shela comes back in this show I will be through watching it.....

PLEASE GET RID OF ADAM !!!!!!!! WE DON'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE HIM THAT ARE CREEPY. DID YOU HEAR THE MUSIC THEY WERE PLAYING ON TUESDAYS SHOW B4 THE SHOW ENDED ?? REALLY WIERD IF YOU ASK ME !!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST B4 , WHEN SHARON SAID''I'M SORRY''. WOW !!!!

At last the writers finally put into action the HOPEFULLY coming to conclusion of the evilness of Adam!!! Today was, in all actuality, a pretty good day on this soap!! The first one in about a year!! Maybe Maria actually read some comments!! I sure hope somebody did!! The fans have been really tired of the same ol' crap!!! I do not know if Sony got new blood in the writing pool or the writers got out of their slump, but it is FINALLY starting to look like my old show!!!(as of today) I just do not want the writers to prolong this baby thing!! GET SHARON HER BABY BACK!!! Let Ashley get her come upings too!! I have NEVER liked the character of Ashley since she was young!! She messed around with Victor, knowing he was married with children!! Victor needs his butt kicked too!! I want Adam to get caught & not just leave & not pay for what he has done!! I think most all of the fans feel that way!!............The writers DO NOT need to take Paul & Lauren down the path they are trying to get them on!!! Paul is the NICE guy on this show & deserves better than that!! Lauren is a good person, too, & needs to find out what that evil Daisy is doing to her!!! Don't let this Daisy/Ryder thing keep going for months!!! It is getting to be the boring thing like the baby switch story line!!! Get these story lines done & THEN get on to new ones!!! Let's see if these writers are ready & willing to give us fans the story lines that we deserve!!!!

Adam should get together with Patty Williams, they make a great couple. Also, they can adopt Ryder and Daisy.

Adam is a lot like Victor.....People this is all friction......... Summer is an adorable little girl and Nick is a great father he should remain her Dad..... Why can't Sharon be happy with someone else.

You ask for comments but do you ever read them (maybe for a good laugh) because nothing appears to change - you still keep the writers who cannot turn out a GOOD SCRIPT. Todays show was pathetic - I was about to turn it off more than once but kept it on just incase the storyline changed but it didn't - what a wast of time. Please, Please get some good writers otherwise it will be 'bye,'bye for me.
I feel sorry for the actors having to read such cr............
