ABC
Brandon Barash is just one of the GH stars slated to attend the "iParticipate" event in L.A. on October 24th!

We've been on pins and needles, waiting 'til we could announce the next FABULOUS event on the Soap Nation calendar -- and the day has finally arrived! Soap Nation and ABC Daytime have partnered up with City Year, the national youth service organization, for events in Los Angeles and New York!

As part of the Entertainment Industry Foundation's "iParticipate" volunteer initiative, stars from General Hospital, All My Children, and One Life to Live will take part in a day of service on Saturday, October 24th, to help beautify a local school in each city.

We've recently got some new additions to our awesome talent line-up! We are so excited for these events, and hope you are too.

So -- who'll be there, you may be asking? Well, we'll tell ya ... The GH stars set to attend in L.A. include Leslie Charleson (Monica), Brandon Barash (Johnny), Kelly Monaco (Sam), Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), Kent King (Lainey), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Minae Noji (Kelly), Haley Pullos (Molly), Aaron Refvem (Morgan), Megan Ward (Kate), Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina), and Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic).

In the Big Apple, All My Children stars volunteering will be Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), JR Martinez (Brot), Cornelius Smith Jr. (Frankie), Chrishell Stause (Amanda), Adam Mayfield (Scott), and Denise Vasi (Randi). One Life to Live will be represented by Melissa Archer (Natalie), Daphnee Duplaix (Rachel), John Brotherton (Jared), Jason Tam (Markko), and Bree Williamson (Jessica).

FYI: Talent is subject to change, but don't worry -- it'll be a fantastically fun group at both events ...

And here's a little background on why we're doing this, and who we're doing it with: The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) will use its recently launched "iParticipate" initiative during the week of October 19th to mobilize the entire entertainment community into inspiring a whole new era of service across the country. Soap Nation is proud to join City Year in this quest; City Year is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping students and schools succeed with a focus on improving attendance, behavior, and coursework -- while also engaging community members in service events to improve educational, recreational, and residential facilities supporting youth and families. See you there!

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year (for soap fans that is)! Time to grab some clothes and our schedules and head to WDW for SSW! It's the most wonderful time of the ye... OH that's right, that scrooge in charge at ABC daytime has canceled the BEST fan event that there has ever been or will ever be! When the fans said that one weekend was not enough, they meant add other events and still have SSW, not cancel the one thing that soooo many fans and soap stars look forward to going to every year! I think it was a good idea to do the charity events that you had this year (please keep them next year as they bring attention to causes that might have gone unnoticed), but the other events were stupid. Either they cost more than admission to WDW and had the star power that we want to see, or they were cheap but only had a few stars there from each soap and was pointless to attend. At the end of A Christmas Carol Scrooge does the right thing and we all hope that at the end of this year you to will do the right thing and reinstate SSW at WDW in 2010!

I too love Super Soap Weekend and as a soon to be 40 year fan of All My Children, I am hoping that once AMC gets settled in California and it's stars get settled in their new homes that they will decide to bring it back. They will be so close to Disneyland and it's parks that the stars won't have to live out of suitcases and they can bring the whole family alot easier.
So here's hoping for 2010 at Disneyland, but I really hope no later than 2011.

SSW was so much fun (and yes, it was crazy at times). I had gone for the last 5 years and made it a family vacation with my mom, sister and niece. So far the only Soap Nation event near where I live (Philly) was cancelled - what a surprise. BRING BACK SSW for 2010!!! Listen to what the fans want!

Fri, Oct 16 - 6:25 pm

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING SUPER SOAP WEEKEND BACK!!!!!!!
I MISS THE CRAZYNEST....... GETTING UP AT 5 AM AND WAITING IN LINE..... BUT IT WAS A LOT OF FUN. PLEASE BRING IT BACK

Thu, Oct 15 - 4:43 am

Last year was the first time my daughter and I got to go to SoapNet Weekend in WDW and we had a great time! I also vote to bring it back to Disney. It is such a good way to see the actors in person, and interact with them. It's a great girls getaway. Please, please AMC, come back to Disney !! WE LOVE YOU !!

Wed, Oct 14 - 4:58 pm

I also agree that Super Soap Weekend needs to come back. We were sitting by an exec from Colgate Total and he told me that they were willing to sponsor SSW for years and he hoped ABC changed their minds. We loved SSW and went the last 3 years Disney had it.

I went to Soap Nation in Nashville. It was horribly hot, the lines were ridiculous and out in the blazing sun, it was not a fun experience to us. Who wants their picture with a soap star when you have been sweating in line for hours? At least at Disney you could get fast passes to see them, you could come up take a picture, go watch an interview out of the sun etc.

BRING BACK SUPER SOAP WEEKEND!!

Tue, Oct 13 - 4:23 pm

YES!!!! PLEASE BRING THIS TO CHICAGO. I AM A HUGE GH FAN & THERE IS PLENTY OTHERS OUT THERE. I AGREE W/ JTG77......MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!! I'D DO ANYTHING TO MEET THOSE GH STARS.
