Soap Nation at CMA Fest Round-Up

They may have backed opposing NBA squads, but Laura Wright and Badford Anderson were on the same team for the Soap Nation Q&As.

The CMA festival in Nashville, TN, was the setting for the latest Soap Nation event. And we were there for the two-day event. All the action took place at the ABC block party, which were a series of tents filled with trivia challenges, Q&A's, concerts, autograph signings, prizes and even a mini-"Wipeout" course. Cameron Mathison (Ryan from "All My Children") was the MC of the whole shindig and after watching him in action, we've decided we want to start drinking whatever he does. The guy is never not charming, funny, or kind (seriously, in his down time, he was taking pics with fans and singing autographs). Also, he's better looking in person. Which, shockingly, is possible.

Despite some really bad weather in Nashville on Thursday night (scary, scary thunderstorms -- Bree Williamson was telling us how she flew right over it), everyone made it there safe and sound and ready to meet fans.

We're just going to cut to the chase. We got story scoops at the event. Read about them here.

One of the cooler games was the "Grey's Anatomy" vs. "General Hospital" trivia challenge. In this game, there was a "Grey's" team and a "GH" team (guess which one we were rooting for) who had to answer trivia questions based on ABC shows. Whichever team got the question right had to remove a body part from a giant "Operation" board (you know, the board game?).

We also really enjoyed watching the trivia challenge where audience members had to answer questions about daytime shows. This one girl was so nervous, she kind of froze on stage. Like that episode of "The Brady Bunch" where Cindy becomes the magician's assistant on TV and just stares at the camera. She totally blanked out on who plays Erica Kane! Luckily, after a second, she got over her nerves and totally answered the question. Another highlight: The one woman who told Cameron (in a very sweet, almost apologetic way) "You know, Ryan's not my favorite character." Clearly a Kendall and Zach fan! It was actually really funny and Cameron took it like a good sport.
