One of our all-time fave actors is coming to "Days of our Lives"! Soap vet John Callahan has been cast in the role of Nicole's currently unnamed doctor -- and we couldn't be more thrilled.
You all know who John is, right? He played the late, great Edmund Grey on "All My Children" from 1992 to 2005 and was one-half of the wildly popular supercouple of Edmund and Maria (played by "CSI: Miami" star Eva La Rue). John and Eva also got married and started a family in real life, hosting TV specials like "Weddings of a Lifetime" and the Miss America Pageant together until they, sadly, parted ways in 2005.
Before the Edmund years, John took on roles like Leo Russell on "General Hospital," Craig Hunt on "Santa Barbara," and Eric Stavros on "Falcon Crest." He even turned up on an episode of "Days" back in 1989. Remember the character of Artie Doyle? That was him! John's also enjoyed a lot of success in primetime, guest starring on a bunch of shows including "Desperate Housewives," "Watch Over Me," and "Cold Case."
We haven't heard yet how long John's new character will be hanging out in Salem -- but we definitely can't wait to see his handsome face again! Be sure to tune in for his debut appearance next Monday, November 24.
Do you think John should play a good doctor, or a bad one?
