One Tree Records?

This is the smile of one seriously lucky dude.

Further proof that deep down, "One Tree Hill" creator Mark Schwahn IS Peyton Sawyer? He's signed a deal with CBS Records to start his own label.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it's one of three deals Schwahn has signed recently, with the other two securing his services on "Tree Hill" for another season while giving him the opportunity to develop new series.

Schwahn, who describes himself to the Reporter as "a frustrated musician who wasn't good but wanted to be great," says that his label will allow him to expand what he already does on "One Tree Hill" -- expose people to new musical talent. The series has featured acting turns by musicians like Gavin DeGraw, Kate Voegele, Tyler Hilton, and Pete Wentz. He explains, "It really comes from a pure place. I'm a fan of music, I feel I have a good ear for it and I would love to be able to help shine a light on new artists and new music."

Beats casting himself as the show's sage record store clerk again!

Have you given any artists a shot after hearing them on TV?
