One Life to Live: Week in Review for September 27, 2010

Langston Wilde, Markko Rivera, One Life to Live

Funniest Moment: It was a comedy of errors -- sexy errors -- this week in the art classrooms on Llanview U. Watching Gigi (or as Bo continues to charmingly refer to her, "Zhee-Zhee") freak out at the sight of a nude male art model was too much fun. She gets so flustered! You can chalk that one up in the "Gigi and Rex should stay together" column -- they both do "flustered" really well.

WTH? Moment: Brody decides to unburden his psyche by seeking counseling with, of course, Dr. Marty Saybrooke. Um ... really, Brody? You decide to take your deep and horrible secret about maybe fathering Natalie's baby to the woman who Natalie stole John from? For the love of Rae Cummings are there NO OTHER shrinks in Pennsylvania?

Best Moment: Danielle says goodbye to Todd ... and tells her dad she loves him. (And on top of that, she actually called him "Dad" for the first time!) We all know how long a way Dani's had to come to say those words. It makes it all the more heartbreaking to see her say them just as she's being taken away from him.

I read where the Ford brothers dad is coming to town. I think that Rex is his son or Eli's. Remember when the guy told Rex and Gigi that Rex's dad was called back to help with the family business, when his mother went there he was married to someone else. Isn't that how they do in the mob business. I would like to see Matt find the file that Rex found. I've lost interest in the babies. I know it takes 9 months but it was predictable when we found out both were pregnant.

i was wondering if anyone should die in that fight it should be Eli. He was supposed to die in the fire and that made us all happy. he should totally die now because he is so very evil. Now he is over here trying to kill Greg he ruined Todds life not only that but almost everyones life in llanview. especially little Dani the helpless girl being preyed on by him and Ross. I was thinking that lLannview needs another big bad guy but Eli is long overdue. The only bad guy that i want to keep coming back is Mitch Lawrence. So bye evil Eli but Eli can make occasinal visits

How did you get it so right with OLTL and so WRONG for GH ? LOL
Because OLTL doesn't have a useless character like Spam to try and promote? *wink*

The nude model scene was so transparent as obligitory 'art assistant' scene. But it was SO well done!!! I laughed out loud. Replayed it and STILL laughed. Of course the rewind was for the nude model, the laughs were just a bonus.

Oh- and kudos to the guy. He came of natural and easy with GiGi. Hope they do a follow up down the road and show her being cavalier about posing him!

Todd and Dani made me teary-eyed.

So good for OLTL. You got two good emotions out of me and no yawns.

The only thing that Eli could have on Gregg that would make him go along with destroying Tea's family, is something about Gregg that would destroy his family. I think this secret is going to be that Destiny is Gregg's daughter, not his sister, and he is afraid of what that knowledge, and the fact that she has been lied to her entire life, will do to Destiny. (If he was thinking straight, he would realize that this information will just make her the same as every other character in Llanview!) Clint is courting Inez to get at his brother, he helped James to blackmail Rex, and he's going to help Ford to get at Dorian. Unfortunately, by putting Clint & Inez together it looks like the writers are setting up Jessica's baby to be Ford's, because then the grandparents would be: Clint & Inez. To make matters worse, this means that the writers would have to make Natalie's baby Brody's, because there would be no conflict if Brody accepted Jessica's baby and Natalie's baby was John's; there's only conflict if Brody has to decide to raise someone else's baby as is own, while he watches another man raise his biological baby. We know in soapland that neither Buchanan sister would ever find out at the birth that the right man had fathered their baby, but the old DNA mixup (Brody's DNA is submitted for both babies and they give Jessica's result to Natalie and Natalie's result to Jessica, and of course then it looks like Brody isn't the father of Jessica's baby and is the father of Natalie's baby, when in fact the opposit is true) would be so much better than the direction the writers are going right now. A note to the writers: Please change direction your heading before it is too late! Hopefully the storyline of Matthew turning Rex in to Clint because he doesn't consider him as a relative and then Rex buckling to Clint's blackmail and letting David stay in the Moroccan prison, will all lead to David turning out to being Rex's father. This opens up so much storyline and ties David and Rex even more to one of Llanviews main families. In addition, since Rex's father (David?) was forced to stay with a mobsters daughter, and the Ford family has mob connections, it could turn out that David has some connection to the Ford family as well, creating more soap ties that bind the canvas. Oh well, that's how I'ld write it anyway.

I've just about had it with the Eli/Tea story line. I agree it's time for Eli to go and Tea to come home but my prediction is that Tea will not get to talk to Todd because Eli will walk in, take the phone and whisk her away (again) so that she cannot be found. The writers really need to stop dragging everything out so long and just get to the punch line. How many times in the soap opera world does someone stop someone else "just in time" before the plot comes to an end. It's really getting old and predictable.
