One Life to Live: Week in Review for November 8, 2010

Cole Thornhart, Starr Manning, One Life to LiveFunniest Moment: Watching Todd, Tea, and Danielle go from door to door around Llanview, inviting people to their party was hilarious for one reason: Todd's facial expressions. He started off regular, grumpy Todd, unable to sit still while Tea and Dani had pleasant conversations with people -- you know, like normal human beings do -- without interrupting and being a jerk. But later on, he began to adopt a happy, cheerful attitude. Which was SO much more disturbing!

Runner-Up: Eddie, upon meeting his son, Nate, had this comment for Inez: "Nathaniel? NATHANIEL?? You name your boys wuss names!"

WTH? Moment: It was really intriguing watching Cristian and Adriana -- played by real-life marrieds David and Melissa Fumero -- interact in Paris. Their storylines aren't really with each other, they're just connected through Layla. But watching them by snarky to one another (Cristian snapping at her that she was being very funny) for no real reason was kind of a cool wink to the audience at home.

Best Moment: Starr and Cole saying goodbye to each other was so totally heart-wrenching. This is what happens when two characters have built up such a rich and intense history (and in such a relatively short time, too) -- an event like this becomes an Event. Young lovers get separated all the time, every day, but with Starr and Cole, it was obviously deeper than that. And we loved those flashbacks across the years. They're young now, but man, they used to be REALLY young!

I'm sorry but this story line with Destiny, Sean, Greg and their parents is stupid. They are her parents, it doesn't matter who gave birth to her, yes they shouldn't have lied to her, but it's not the disaster she's making it out to be. She's not a very good actress either, she's more annoying than anything else. Maybe it's time for that family to leave. People need to quit focusing on 'birth' parents and remember that the parent is the person that was there in the middle of the night walking them when they were colocy, etc., just because you 'donated' sperm or pushed them out, doesn't make you a parent!!

Kelly I can't stand her ---what kind of acting is that ???boy she is not good at all---her body movements & her facial expressions are so fake --What's wrong with her ??? I think she doesn't do anything to OLTL in my opinion ---
I just finished watching Fridays episode --gosh Marty Is becoming an evil person her jealousy will ruin her life ---I think may be she will be leaving the show w/this storyline she is heading to St.Annes ---I loved the way John handled her it was just great--- that's why i'm pretty sure his deep love to Natalie will make him FORGIVE her ( hopefully )
On the other hand as much as i LOVE john and Natalie as a couple ---i'm kinda upset that Natalie is not coming clean w/John ---BUT any way it won't be a storyline if she did ---
I'm not sure about Starr,Cole and James story ---no comments on that yet!!!
That's all for now ----

Wearing white at your wedding has nothing to dowith being chaste they need to make a law orsomething to draw peoples attention to this fact.

A once in a generation opportunity missed by OLTL writers....

Considering the intensity of the love story between Starr & Cole and the ability it - particularly with the chemistry between Brandon Buddy & Kirsten Alderson - had to draw in normally skeptical daytime soap people like myself, I think the writers of OLTL owed it to the viewers who otherwise would NEVER have been pulled into their show to give Cole a “proper sendoff” with a lavish Wedding to Starr (Don’t care that they are supposedly 19 & 18, same characters almost got married a year ago AND share a two year old) and a week long honeymoon “fantasy style” BEFORE Brandon left.

After all that the Cole and Starr love story did to draw in a ton of persons like myself who wouldn't know a thing about Llanview without it (I was reluctantly drawn in watching promos for it while watching OC reruns on Soapnet while Starr was learning she was pregnant and subsequently went back and got all four years of episodes and have watched every one) They could and should have had the couple marry, promote the heck out of it, and then have Cole either get tragically injured or lost at sea or go missing at the hands of some comrades of the Russian Dope Dealers he helped put away last fall of 2009 (perhaps some type of situation where the death of his dad turned out not to be definitive and he set out to Ireland or something to find him)... ANYTHING BUT THIS POORLY PLANNED & EXECUTED EXIT WOULD HAVE GIVEN BOTH THE LOVE STORY AND THE FANS CLOSER TO WHAT EACH DESERVED.

I know I now have ZERO interest in watching the show, and that won't change unless Cole (in the form of Buddy) comes back and Starr still has not “been with” with another man so they can have the closest thing to a white wedding that two young and in love characters can have (can’t be an absolute white wedding since as they share a child she clearly isn’t chaste, but the fact the two were never allowed to explore the joys and frustrations of young parenthood was one of the great unexplored storylines... and having been exclusive in this day in age I would be tempted to grant them absolution and a legit white wedding with everything the white entails), but nonetheless a gift like that instead of the sloppy and awkward ending they gave them with Starr asking James to make love to her the next day makes me wonder WHY THE SHOW DID NOT HYPE AND TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF BY FAR THE STRONGEST LOVE STORY IN DAYTIME in over 20 years since a YOUNG BO & HOPE on DOOL (I was in my early teens at the time and I watched it passively as my High School aged sister would tape on our VCR every day ergo I remember that one quite well while complaining the entire time so I could put on Music Videos), or - although I will NEVER equate the next one to greats because of how it got started, I know many consider it the standard - LUKE & LAURA on GH even earlier than that.

A wasted opportunity AND IT WILL NOT HAVE THE SAME POWER if Brandon learns the hard lesson – and I am NOT saying this is what will happen - that he is not the next Network TV drama star or big screen leading man and come back to Llanview in 26 weeks or 4 years; they only had the opportunity to give these two the dream wedding this one time and no matter what happens in the future, if BB returns there will forever now be a triangle which makes for the wedding many of us thought was inevitable to be guaranteed of being only one thing SHOULD it ever take place: inevitably messy & filled with unnecessary and unneeded secondary and tertiary story lines.
