"One Life to Live": Week in Review for July 20, 2009

Tea Delgado, with teen posse, in her pristine cream pantsuit. All things considered, this was a pretty smokin' week in Llanview. We had Stacy's dramatic tumble down the parking lot stairs, the word "bitch" scribbled in lipstick (our favorite writing utensil) on the hood of Gigi's Mini Cooper, Layla accusing Fish of batting for the other team, Roxy and Kyle doing shots in the hallways of the Angel Square Hotel, fantastic hand-acting from Rex, and a good look at what Dr. Greg Evans is packing beneath those surgical scrubs. All in all, we considered it aces.

Funniest Moment: There were a few this week but we're settling on Dorian combining "Blair!" and "Where have you been?" into "Blair have you been?" on Thursday's episode -- right before their big fight over Dorian's (ingenious!) idea to invite Tea to move into La Boulaie. Runner-up goes to Layla's explanation for why she thought Fish was gay: "I come from the acting and fashion worlds where if you're gay, straight, bi, tri -- whatever, who cares?" Llanview Gay Pride Agenda should grab Layla as their new spokesperson, pronto!

WTH? Moment: The Angel Square Hotel was home to a few weird scenes this week. One was the "first meeting" of Brody and Cristian. OK, we get it, Llanview's a huge town and all, but come on -- Brody's been on the scene for about two years now. Cristian's NEVER noticed him chowing down in the Buenos Dias Cafe before? Also, when Kyle lost the key to his room at the hotel, why didn't Roxy -- the proprietress -- have a spare? We assume it's so they could have a drinking scene in the hallway together. In any case, that was strange. But we liked it. Our apartment hallway is going to be our new happy hour spot.

Performer of the Week: Florencia Lozano as Tea Delgado. And her cane. And her gorgeous cream pantsuit. Everything she did this week was spot on (as usual with her), starting with her opening moments on Monday when she wiped down the park bench before sitting on it in her pristine pantsuit. She was wonderful opposite enraged Nora (Hillary B. Smith) and smoldering Todd (Trevor St. John). Florencia Lozano brings it day after day on this show. She's simply the best.

I'm going to have to agree that there were lots of moments this past week that deserved to be mentioned, but weren't. What about Roxy coming clean to Rex that his father was the donor? Ilene rocked those scenes. I also enjoyed Stacy's instant forehead bruise, which brought to mind her instant black eye. And how she didn't have a pulse, then 3 seconds later she was conscious! Miracles happen to all the right people, don't they!

Love Todd, he's adorable. Todd and Blair a perfect match.

For Fish to be the father Stacy would have to be atlease 6 months pregnante since they slept with each other the night of the Go Red Ball and that was in Feburary. By now if it was Fish's baby she would know. Since this story line has been so predictable she may just lose that baby soon.

I just wanted to say that I believe gigi sister stacy is pregnant with Fish's baby not Rex. She had a one night stand with him in gigi's liviing room. That is why the pregnancy appears to have shown up so soon after she slep with Rex because its not Rex baby. That my take and I know i'm on the wrong message board, however i'm new at this so please bear with me. I too love the tea delgado character and the actress that plays her is an excellent actress. I was also glad to see the actress who plays Nora daughter on the show. I thought she was pretty good on passions.

Amen Carmello1980 Tika is a good actress and they should show more of her once in while. Dont get me wrong eveyone I think Tea and Blair did a great job this week but there are others!!!!!!!!! The whole Stacy being pregnant storyline was predictable but like I said before I really hate the way the writers are treating Gigi another good, real character BTW. Stacy and Rex are both full of ### and they deserve eachother!!! How dare he try and blame GIGI next week. WTF!?!?!?!?!? COME ON OLTL GET IT TOGETHER!

Watching a Soap, I like to be entertained by the actors in their storylines. "John" and "Tae" have that special spark, along with their storylines on OLTL. That spark was evident for me with them and exciting. Melissa Archer ("Natalie") always had something special in her role interacting with "John" (Michael Easton). Now I just settle for seeing "John," and what a delight. "John and Natalie" will always bring interesting memories.

There were way better moments then the things above. While Tea is great I don't think she deserved POW. You didn't even touch on Stacy being pregnante and even more crazy then we thought, or Starr and Cole spending the night together. You didn't even get to the moring after when Starr and Cole were listening to Dorian and Todd or when Starr went to get Hope and told Todd, "If you want to look loveable get a puppy." " Then there was also Markko's father disowing him completely. There is more to the show then Tea, Todd, and Blair and I hope next week you show that.

okay David, I enjoyed the Tea/Blair/Todd stuff this week as well, but your bias for all things Tea is showing. I get that you think FL is like a GODDESS and the only person worthy of a paycheck in all soapdom, but come on there's more to the show than just her. Isn't thins like the 2nd or 3rd week in a row she's been POW? Just saying, it's very obvious.

And, I can't believe not even a single mention of Starr and Cole having sex again and then hearing about Todd and Blair's sexapade (hello Line of the week: Starr: "My dad had sex with my mom-Ewww") Dorian's outburst at Todd or Matthew suing Bo and Nora.

You touched upon the Fish/Layla scenes, but didn't even recognize Tika Sumpter for her excellent work

The show is more than just Tea Delgado, more than one story or character. I get the feeling reading your week in reviews that you watch the show in FFwd and only stop at scenes having to do with Tea. OLTL is the #1 ABC soap right now so how about recognizing all the people that make the show so good.
