If you watched Season One of "General Hospital: Night Shift," you may notice something's different -- and yet still familiar -- when Season Two starts July 22 at 11pm ET/PT on SOAPnet.
The role of sharp-witted, curly-haired Dr. Leo Julian -- originally played by Dominic Rains -- has been recast with Dominic's older brother, Ethan Rains!
"Before 'Night Shift' invited him back for a second season, my brother had already committed to do an L.A. play called 'Desert Sunrise,'" Ethan explains to SOAPnet.com. "He tried to work out doing both the show and the play, but he couldn't. So Dominic let me know they had opened up the part of Leo and encouraged me to audition.
"It's funny," Ethan says, "because the show's headwriter, Sri Rao, wasn't too keen on me coming in! I was [the other actor's] brother and he didn't know me and whatever ... But once I came in and went through the callback process and screen tested, lo and behold, I got the part. It's terrific!"
By the way, Ethan wants us to help him be a good big bro, and let y'all know where to see Dominic's play if you're in L.A. So here's the info: "Desert Sunrise" runs July 11 through August 9 at the Lillian Theater in Hollywood, California.
