It's a summer away, but the CW is already hyping the new "90210." In a YouTube preview video (see it here), viewers are welcomed to "America's favorite zip code ... where every story's intriguing, every character has a secret and nothing is what you expect."
... Not like they've set the bar high or anything.
Helping their cause: casting an actor to give "Gossip" guy Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) a run in the hot dad department! Rob Estes, who starred in the first "90210" spin-off "Melrose Place," is returning to his Southern California soap roots as the patriarch of the Mills family, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Like the Walshes before them, the Mills are innocent transplants from the Midwest. Setting them apart? Father Harry (Estes) has been there before -- he's an alumnus of West Beverly High. Stepping in as the posh school's principal, Harry has to worry about his kids Annie ("Degrassi" star Shenae Grimes) and Dixon (Tristan Wilds) fitting into their new zip code -- all while keeping an eye on mom Tabitha (Jessica Walter), an aging alcoholic actress.
It should be a piece of cake for Estes, who's dealt with drama before: In addition to his stint on "Melrose Place," the actor, 44, has been on "Days of Our Lives," "Silk Stalkings," and the recently canceled "Women's Murder Club."
Do you think Rob will feel at home in his new zip code?
