New All My Children Head Writers Speak!
In January, David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski were named new co-head writers of All My Children. The pair - who were co-head writers on Guiding Light (earning them a 2007 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing) - recently sat down with us to give us their thoughts on Pine Valley, and what stories we can expect to see in the comings months.
SOAPnet.com: How is it going so far?
David Kreizman: "So far it's going great. We've really been thrown into the mix. We've had lots of meetings with everyone in every department and luckily we've had relationships with some other people on the team, so there is a comfort level."
Donna Swajeski: "How can you not be happy taking over a show like this? It has such a great history, and we love that. We were fans before we were writers."
David: "We've spent a good amount of time with Agnes [Nixon] and that's been really helpful and exciting."
Why did you want to write for this show?
Donna: "We were fans of the show, and we do love to work together. This came up and it was the perfect blend for us because we love tradition. We love family and all that warm stuff, and yet, we are contemporary writers, so it's kind of good to have that blend of the old and the new. That's what we love about this show. It has a good blend. It has great roots and tradition, and yet it can be funny and hip."
David: "And I've never worked at ABC before, and that's something that I've always wanted to do. I had great experiences with Proctor & Gamble and CBS, but there is just something different in that ABC owns its own shows and can promote them in a different way."
Donna: "And I started here at ABC years ago, so it's like coming home."
Donna, Didn't you work for All My Children?
Donna: "I worked at ABC as an executive just right out of college. The first shows I [worked on] were actually All My Children and Loving. I mean, can you imagine being thrown in with the master storyteller, Agnes Nixon? I got to learn a lot from her, and many things that she told me would happen in life came true. I always remember her words. She was a great person to begin my career with."

I WANT ZACH, KENDALL AND THE BOYS BACK AT AMC. AMC IS BORING WITH OUT THEM.
Please, no David and Greenlee. Greenlee is not the right woman for David. He does not need this little girl as his wife. I could care less if Frons, new writers or the man on the moon want Rylee back together, because they are going to do what they want and not what the fans want.
I hate, hate, hate that "The Erica Kane is even in Greenme's sphere. If Erica Kane was truly written in character she would have wipe the floor with Greenme by now and Fusion would be totally hers. I hate the way AMC and writers come in and dumb down characters so that they can write what they want instead of staying true to their characters and AMC's history.
After seeing Erica and Jack in those hot scenes last week do you even need an answer? YES! I want them back and I don't want a triangle. Give Krystal the guy or let Liza/Krystal fight over the new one. Leave my Jerica together.
Find a new woman for Ryan. The Madison thing seems promising. I would like to see where David/Greenlee can go with a romance.

Saying Rylee are hugely popular makes it sound like your heads are already up Brian Frons' ***, and makes you look like complete idiots before you've even started.
I started watching AMC when the baby Miranda switch was going on so I don't know how the "other" Liza was, but I DO like this one...She seems real to me. I am LOVING the Greenlee/ David pairing. Even tho I have only seen 2-4 Rylee re-pairings, it's MORE than enough for me!!!! I can't stand Ryan!!! I was liking Annie,but I see her slippin into madness again. I was crying when Jesse and Angie reunited, and I had never seen them before, but now I'm not likin Jesse at all!!! He is under the spell and led around by the core hypocrites of PV, and does their bidding even tho it's illegal and unethical. He's not who I thought he was... Maybe Ryan and Madison will hook up and she'll turn evil again and karma will be served!!! I hope Erica loses Kendall's share of Fusion and Greenlee becomes it's sole owner. I hope she RIPS Kendall a new one when she and Zach make their overhyped visit. I was glad when Kendall left and was hoping she wouldn't return.. Love Zach, hate him w/ Kendall!!! He WAS a strong , edgy, man w/ his own sense of honor and values and principles that he let Kendall rob him of until he became a cuckold,wimp of a "man". Castrated comes to mind!!! I really hope TPTB keep David/ Greenlee together and they "get" each other and help teach PV a lesson in payback!!!
Oh boy, I remember Tad during his Tad the Cad days. The Tad/Damon storyline should be very entertaining, plus MEK and Finn have such great chemistry.
Jesse and Angie in a front burner story. Hooray! Can't wait to see those two great actors on center stage where they belong.
Can we please get Randi's complete backstory, more air time for Frankie and Randi as a couple and a baby for them. Also greater emphasis on the Hubbards as a family.

You would like to know who Told the HeadWriter that Ryan and Greenlee was Hugely Popular. Brian Frons who is the President of ABC Daytime Told Them. Brian Frons Loves Cameron and Rebecca. Cameron is Ryan and Rebecca is Greenlee. Vincent was A Business Man on The Young And The Restless and He didn't have Anything to do. The Best Thing All My Children did was to have David Hayward be A Doctor and put him Originally with the Martins. JR is Not Too Nice. JR is A Jerk. Tad Is Not Running after Women his Son's Age. They were Talking about Tad The Cad because That was what Tad used to be and now It Looks like his Son Damon is the New Tad the Cad. Damon Chases the Women like Tad used to do. I think that if the Writers will do what the Viewers want and do it like The Soap used to be that they can have the Recycled Writers if They will do This. Jody
Now you have an excellent point they could act! Why is Damon all of a sudden sooo bad...its annoying. I could understand being desparate and resort to stealing, he needed the money for his family but now he's just a jerk. The writers expect us to believe that he is facing jail time and is behavior is getting worse??? Don't insult my intelligence please....folks are leaving daytime because the writing is so bad all the good writers have moved to cable.......Let Damon be bad all on his own no need to copy Tad the Cad there could only be one..........
They did NOT just say, "we know that Ryan and Greenlee are hugely popular"!!!!!!!!!!! Do they know anything about this show or did Frons tell them everything they are "supposed" to know? What bull! They are the most hated couple on this show. Find me Rylee fans please because they don't exist! If they reunite this celebration of abusive I am done with this show. You can't just dangle gold like David and Greenlee in our faces and snatch it away for crap like that! Please don't break up my wonderful David and Greenlee for that couple with no fanbase called Rylee?
