In January, David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski were named new co-head writers of All My Children. The pair - who were co-head writers on Guiding Light (earning them a 2007 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing) - recently sat down with us to give us their thoughts on Pine Valley, and what stories we can expect to see in the comings months.
SOAPnet.com: How is it going so far?
David Kreizman: "So far it's going great. We've really been thrown into the mix. We've had lots of meetings with everyone in every department and luckily we've had relationships with some other people on the team, so there is a comfort level."
Donna Swajeski: "How can you not be happy taking over a show like this? It has such a great history, and we love that. We were fans before we were writers."
David: "We've spent a good amount of time with Agnes [Nixon] and that's been really helpful and exciting."
Why did you want to write for this show?
Donna: "We were fans of the show, and we do love to work together. This came up and it was the perfect blend for us because we love tradition. We love family and all that warm stuff, and yet, we are contemporary writers, so it's kind of good to have that blend of the old and the new. That's what we love about this show. It has a good blend. It has great roots and tradition, and yet it can be funny and hip."
David: "And I've never worked at ABC before, and that's something that I've always wanted to do. I had great experiences with Proctor & Gamble and CBS, but there is just something different in that ABC owns its own shows and can promote them in a different way."
Donna: "And I started here at ABC years ago, so it's like coming home."
Donna, Didn't you work for All My Children?
Donna: "I worked at ABC as an executive just right out of college. The first shows I [worked on] were actually All My Children and Loving. I mean, can you imagine being thrown in with the master storyteller, Agnes Nixon? I got to learn a lot from her, and many things that she told me would happen in life came true. I always remember her words. She was a great person to begin my career with."

Dear God, please no more Jackson and Erica! I can't take it anymore. They are so boring because Jackson is SO BORING. And it's been proven time and time again that they don't work together. Quit kicking that dead horse. Free Erica!
I seriously hope Erica's other man is David. They are so hot together and just ooze chemistry.
Don't waste my time with David and GreenMeMeMe either. I can't stand her anymore.
I like the Idea of JR, Annie, Scott and Marrisa involved in a s/l. I'm still not happy with the exiting of DC but I feel that JY will do an excellent job trying to fill his shoes. I hated Damon at first but he is slowly winning me over! I am enjoying the development between Ryan and Madison and I hope the writers continue with their story b/c I think the Rylee's ship has sailed! I am very excited about Jesse and Angie having a front-burner s/l! They are much too talented to be used as propping for other characters and Jesse has suffered Massive Character Destruction which Desperately Needs repairing! The Hubbards are a strong Family unit that is very loyal to each other! I would like to see a story which involves ALL the Hubbards...Frankie and Randi are a beautiful young couple who also deserve their own story but PLEASE NO TRIANGLE! I want to see them happy and enjoying each other for a change! I would like to know Randi's back story and what led her to a life of prostitution. I would also like to see them have a baby because they took such good care of Baby Trevor during the short time they had him.
I am a huge fan of the Hubbards! I LOVE the fact that Jesse and Angie will have a front-burner storyline because DM and DW are phenominal actors! I have been fans of theirs since they were teenagers with Greg and Jenny. I am also a big fan of Frankie and Randi Hubbard! They have great chemistry together and they also NEED a front-burner story as well! When they lost their baby last summer, I was so feeling their pain. I would like them to have the baby which was lost to them. The Hubbards are the ONLY family that does not have a baby on the show. Please give us that Frandi baby!
ICAM that David and Greenlee are the couple TPTB need to run the whole 100 yards with (including a miracle baby!) and give Madison a real chance with Ryan, if he has to be with somebody. We need new, fresh, and exciting couples! Also, Greenlee has been stronger and more herself with David than with any other man since Leo, so I want to see their strong wills clash and make their relationship even better afterward. I want to see fire, passion, intelligence, and equality between them, not the pathetic, submissive, unrecognizable creature Greenlee is with Ryan!
Jack will beat any guy who tries to get near ERica, LOL. These writers already suck, IMO

For heavens sake! Who told the new writers that Ryan and Greenlee are popular with the fans. R & G have to be the most overdone couple in soap land. I sure don't want to see them on my TV screen any time this century.
Excited to see Jr as pariach of the Chandlers and a triagle f sorts with Annie Marissa Jr and Scott.
I like Liza and Tad. That could be a very good story with Damon and Colby.
Its time Jesse and ANgie had a story but what about the other Hubbards (Frankie & Randi). I want to see them on a front burner story too and no infidelity for any of the Hubards.
Erica and a new man. Whatever as long as it s not Ryan again. Im good
Please do not make David torture for Ryan and Greenless sakes. David deserves better
just let me know when Mary Beth Evans is cast as Hilary
Ryan and Greenlee are so boring and awful together. I don't want to see them coupled again, ever. I don't know who the new writers think likes them; I sure don't know anybody who does. Big yuck.
Love, love, love David and Greenlee. Right now, they are the shining jewel in Pine Valley.
I love the new Liza as long as she remains a strong woman who makes trouble like Liza in the old days. Do not want to see Tad with Krystal again. That ship has passed.
I so don't want to see Jack and Erica together again. Can they be anymore boring? I'm tired of this history repeating itself. I'd rather see Jack get together with Brooke if she stays around. Heck, I'd rather see him with Opal, anybody but Erica.
I hope the writers will give Annie a good s/l and use her many talents other than just fretting over Adam.
And I sure hope the new writers will read this and consider how we all feel about these characters before they do things we will regret.
