Mischa gets "Beautiful" for the CW.

Leave it to the wily Mischa Barton to fake "Melrose" and go model.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the case is closed on rumors that "OC" star Mischa is headed to the CW's "Melrose Place" remake ... because she's been cast in the CW's "A Beautiful Life" pilot instead!

The Reporter states that "A Beautiful Life" is about "a group of models living together in a co-ed residence in New York." And Mischa, who's done her fair share of modeling in real life, will play Sonja, a fashion veteran struggling to stay on top of the uber-competitive industry.

While we're happy to see Mischa go with an original show for her TV return, we can't help but wonder if it's a risky move; "Melrose" seems like a lock to score a spot on the CW's schedule next year -- who knows where "Beautiful" will land!
