Michelle Ray SmithThe big cast reunion continues at "Guiding Light" as the show nears its finale. Today news trickled out that Michelle Ray Smith will be returning to the show in her role as Ava Peralta. The daughter of Olivia Spencer and Jeffrey O'Neill, Ava will be back in Springfield for the sad occasion of her father's funeral. Daytime Confidential is reporting that her first airdate will be Friday, July 24th.

Guiding Light was the first Soap that I watched and I got hooked. I don't think they should take Guiding Light off the air because it is going to hurt daytime t.v more than help it.

If Guiding Light goes, I won't really have a reason to turn on the TV at all. Guiding Light has been the one show I have insisted that we watch at our house that is not on the "Dora and SpongeBob" channel or on the "Movies for Men" channel. I have already decided that I need to start turning off the TV more often, like the parent educators have been telling us for years. I'm just disappointed with myself that I haven't done it because it is the healthy choice, but because of utter hopelessness that anything good would be on.
