I agree with you Shona. I hope they bring back Ryan's Hope. I felt hurt too, and understand how you feel.

SoapNet made a big mistake taking Ryan's Hope off the air abruptly and disappointing loyal fans. I recorded the program and looked forward to it every day. It is a classic show set in the uncomplicated 1970s and it had a more realistic and therefore entertaining set of storylines. SoapNet can spare 30 or 60 minutes a day to show this masterpiece. Listen to your viewers, put it back while we are still interested enough to care. I started watching soaps in my crib 53 years ago. There is a reason they are falling out of favor. They have gotten ridiculous. Ryan's Hope was a breath of fresh air for someone who enjoys the soap format but not the nonsense. Another highlight on the SoapNet lineup is Being Erica. Invest your efforts in creating original programming like Being Erica, and save the true classic Ryan's Hope, and SoapNet may have a future. Fail to diversify, and show multiple airings of cancelled clunkers, and the network will fail.

Hey Soapnet-Not that you care, believe me it has been obvious to everyone for a long time that you do not care-but get this: I only watched your channel for Ryans Hope!
Now you have taken it off and guess what? You got it, I won't watch your programming at all.
You are the height of hypocracy! You are supposed to be bringing us classic soaps. You think you are doing that?
Fat chance.
Well goodbye Soapnet. You once had promise now all you have is NOTHING.

Although I loved and enjoyed watching some of the non soap shows in the past that are now being showed on SoapNet 90210,Gilmore Girls,One Tree Hill, Brothers &Sisters, Erica,OC etc. Would be more suiteable for ABC Family Channel maybe late night in the middle of the night, early mornings, afternoons.Or if they must have them on Soapnet how about on the weekends during the daytime. That is the perfect home for those shows and leave the soaps to Soapnet. ABC has enough channels to spread their other line ups. The Chew I have not seen yet so I am going to give it a chance but maybe more suitable for The Food Network right now I guess its just a space saver, it might have potential but I feel right now ABC is setting it up for failure putting it on so soon replacing such a powerful show like AMC, wondering what will be moving into OLTL'S slot. Maybe they should have bumped up GH to AMC's slot. Did they even do a market research survey to see the fans reaction to these new changes?

I was so HURT when, woke up @ 5am extra early just to catch my dose of Ryans Hope to find that it had been replaced with random episodes of AMC. The timing was horrible right when the story line was really heating up all the way around there was drama ,very inconsiderate for those of us fans that pay extra money to the cable provider just to have that tier just for one channel(SOAPNET), I am thinking about cancelling but am holding out in (Hopes) that you will bring the show back and spice up your line up with some of the greats. It really is not necessary to show 2 and 3 repeat episodes of shows that were on earlier that day on the regular networks especially in this day and age of DVRs. A good idea for soapnet would be to bring back all the classic soaps and start them from the beginning & get rid of all those other shows OC,Being Erica,One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls and really 90210 etc. after all it is called Soapnet. And those are not only not soaps but can be got on DVD, I think Dynasty, Dallas,Colbys would probably work better than those. If you show AMC, OLTL please revive them by starting them from the beginning would for those of us that were not old enough to see them but became fans later, even Y&R,GH and Days would be fun to watch from the start even though they are still airing, I am 100% sure you will have a huge rating hike. Lets not forget Another World, Loving,Edge of Night come on Soapnet dig back in the old soap vaults and bring Ryans Hope back as well as the other greats there are 24 hours in a programing day you can easily fill as well as make your current watchers happy and gain some new ones in the process.Your network will really standout, when you starting showing old episodes of Dallas even my husband became excited and a new fan of your network. You guys pulled a hardcore sports fan away from ESPN for a few hours LOL. The Web thing is ok and trendy but there's quite I few of us that prefer the good OLD FASHION B**B TUBE. And why can't we find these on DVD & UTube only has a few episodes short and out of order (Not Fun @ all). I'm certain other fans share my sentiments. This is just the first week and I feel my routine is really thrown off balance, kind of empty without it. Please bring back Ryans Hope.

Please, please put Ryan's Hope back on my daughter and I watched it everyday. People can TiVo the other shows, ie. All My Children.
Please put it on, we loved watching it so much together. Please, please put it back on, I'm so depressed you took it off.

I am so disappointed with SoapNet for taking Ryan's Hope off the air without even warning the viewers. I only watch SoapNet for the Ryan's Hope episodes.

Wed, Sep 28 - 6:02 pm

I named my son Ryan after Ryan's hope, and I was so enjoying watching it. Bring it back!!!

Wed, Sep 28 - 3:55 pm

I agree with you. I wish they would put Ryan's Hope on DVD. But it's been a lot of BS for years with copyright laws. ABC allegedly won't release the rights to all the shows 1975-89. The creators are also allegedly making a fuss about copyrights, money and who has the power. The actors want royalities etc. A bunch of red tape and politics.I guess we will never see the show on DVD. Even if SoapNet decided to show Ryan's Hope again. They will only show it from 1975-1981. From 1982-1989 The actors, writers, etc got royalties everytime the show is aired, soo that is supposedly why SoapNet doesn't show the whole series. They don't want to fork out money for many years to come. I feel your pain :-/

I feel the same way everyone else does. I could not believe they took Ryans Hope off again. I never got to watch it in the 70,s because I was just a kid in school, but I found it several years ago on soap net and was hooked. They have taken it off several times and its beyond annoying. It is the only soap worth watching. I used to be a huge Y&R fan, but I don't even bother with that one. I LOVE RYANS HOPE! Please bring it back.
