Last night's "Dancing with the Stars" was an experiment in "surreality." First, Brooke Burke got an 8! Which is shocking, since the judges are always talking about how perfect she is. Second, Susan Lucci performed old school hip-hop!
But let's talk about Susan's main dance, the mambo. Susan's biggest criticism last week was that she needed to let loose and "be slutty" (to quote judge Bruno Tonioli). She totally took it to heart and worked really hard. Her partner, Tony Dovolani, took her to a mambo dance club in NYC, where she and some of the "All My Children" crew (like Cameron Mathison and Ricky Paull Goldin) got down. The moral of the story is she spiced it up this week. Did you see that kneel-on-the-floor-pretend-you're-a-cat move she did? The judges -- well, Carrie Ann Inaba and guest judge Michael "Lord of the Dance" Flatley -- thought she did great, but Bruno thought her timing was off.
