Let's face it. We all can't get enough of "Lost" and "Grey's Anatomy." Their seasons end and we're faced with having to actually interact with other human beings. Totally overrated.
This was especially difficult at the end of last season, what with "Grey's"'s tragic cliff hanger and "Lost"'s ... well, "Lost"'s continued ability to both confuse and addict. But for next season, ABC has decided to celebrate Christmas in July by announcing today that both shows are getting an extra hour!
According to TV Guide, "Lost"'s final season will now be 14 hours' long -- which means the finale will be a whopping three hours! The first hour of the finale will air on May 15, 2010, but we'll have to wait two weeks for the final two hours to air on May 29th. Why must the producers torture us so? Oh, who are we kidding ... we love the anticipation!
"Lost" producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse convinced ABC that the last two hours of the finale needed to air together. Says Cuse, "We are very excited and grateful to [ABC president] Steve McPherson for working out the scheduling difficulties to allow us to make the second part of our finale two hours. Damon and I were working on the script and we just couldn't get it all done in one hour without shortchanging the story. Now the finale will have all the sweep and emotional completeness we wanted it to have -- along with, of course, answering who's in the coffin."
