Liz Webber: Un-Lucky in Love

Elizabeth Webber, Rebecca Herbst, General HospitalSince pretty much her earliest days on General Hospital, Elizabeth Webber has been one of the most prominent romantic figures on the show. Relationships with Lucky and Jason have been among the most memorable in the show's history.

But recent events have led us to a very different observation: maybe Liz is really, really unfortunate when it comes to relationships. Hear us out! Her epic romance with Lucky had included presumed death, brainwashing, infidelity on both sides, and painkiller addiction. She's got two children by two different men who are completely unavailable to her, and now she's caught up in this Nikolas affair which, if anybody ever finds out, it's going to be a huge disaster.

I'm so sick and tired of Lucky being such a whimp. If he wasn't so sexy one would believe he is FEMALE. Dump her and find someone who really loves you. It's enough...

Now for Elisabeth: the character has been so whitewashed it -she- is pathetic!!! As an artist, she was original, different, interesting. Now she has become a boring, "quasi stay at home mom" who smells of vomit and baby powder and doesn't seem to care who's arms she ends up in as long as she can forget just how bored she is and just how trashed her life has become. Her tone is always a lament. Her lines dull. Her house even duller. Becky Herbst is gorgeous. Why relegate her to such dreariness: give her back her edge, her spunk, her real interests and her real love interest -Jason- so they can become a strong, original, fearless couple... once again and this time, for good. By the way, why the hell is Jason's apartement emptied of it's pool table and graced with a boring dining room table... I'm so disapointed in ALL of this!!!

Just put Jason and Elizabeth back together so this drama can come to a end..

I love the character of Elizabeth. That being said, I hate the non-love triangle she is stuck in. It's beyond obvious that she is not in love with either brother. The relationship between Elizabeth and Lucky has been dead for a long, long time. I don't care what actor is playing the part, let them move on already. As for her former brother-in-law, GH has totally ruined what was a wonderful friendship. As a friend, I think Nik is fine, as something romantic... he is too manipulative and obsessive. The fans want to see the strong, spunky Elizabeth we all love. Not this wishy-washy woman who can't "help herself". It is just not believable.

I love Liz and I truly hate the way they trashed her in this Lameass storyline with Nik.. its vile. Pretty much like the Jatank crap. Its VILE and ugly also.
Liz should be with Jason raising their son Together!

FREE JASON From Skankmantha!

FREE LIZ from the DOOFUS Brothers!

Stop with the flipping SLEAZE on GH! Its not becoming and it sure is not watchable!

Reunite Jason & Liz!!

I absolutely adore the character of Elizabeth Webber and have loved her since she first came to GH so many years ago. I liked her with Lucky in the very beginning but, from the moment she and Jason Morgan met, I have wanted them to get together. It was so obvious to me from the start that they were meant to be and wanted each other but, somehow Elizabeth always chose Lucky over him (and any other man who entered her life). Even back then, I knew the reason she always chose Lucky was obligation (because he stood by her after she was raped) and because Elizabeth always tries to do what she thinks is expected of her and what she should do instead of what she really wants to do. Although it's obvious that GH is now trying to show Lucky as a good father (to justify Jason leaving Jake to him) Lucky has, through the years been a non-supportive, weak and abusive husband to Liz - not at all the man I want her with. The Liz and Lucky romance has long been dead and the writers need to put a final nail in that coffin. When Jason and Liz reconnected again in 2006, I felt it was a dream come true for both of them and for their fans. It was a beautiful story, one that tugged at our hearts and one many of us were rooting for and waiting to come to fruition. The GH writers did a huge disservice to this couple, their fans and GH itself when they chose to really not give them a chance and not really write for them. Although Nik and Liz have tremendous chemistry and I love them both, nothing, nothing will ever compare to Jason and Liz for this fan. I have gone from not missing one single episode of GH during Liason to hardly ever watching at all any more. Sad.

i have always liked the character of Liz. I think her and Lucky's story has been done to death, move on already. I didn't like that they had her with Nik. I liked the fact they were good friends and never lovers. It's a shame the way they ruin characters and don't follow through with story lines. I would have loved to see Liz and Jason's story told and them given a story, not just a few minutes of the same conversations over and over. Liz was always so tough, I hate when they make her wishy washy.

First off I LOVE the character of Elizabeth Webber. Now to the issue I have.

General Hospital is continually writing women characters as wh*res, s*x starved and unintelligent and it's disgusting and degrading to the majority of the viewing audience, who by the way are women.

The writing the past 4 to 6 months has turned one of the possible 1 or 2 more decent women characters, Elizabeth, on this show into an indecisive, wh*rish woman and I may NEVER forgive or watch General Hospital again because of it. The same can be said for what they have done to the Jason Morgan character.

The writing for this rape surviving character horrifies me. A rape survivor would NEVER act like this or do the things Elizabeth has been doing. And if they did it is a very, very, very rare thing. It's insulting to rape survivors and women in general. Until General Hospital turns around the writing I cannot watch. This coming from a 20 plus year viewer.

To tear apart amazing couples that had undeniable chemistry for the garbage we have been seeing the past year is disturbing to me. What are the writers and the people in charge at General Hospital/ABC and Disney thinking? What kinds of people are in charge of this network and this show?

Elizabeth and Jason have the potential to be the next super-couple and core family, yet what does the show do without reason. They tear this couple apart and have kept them apart for over a year. I mean we are talking about a Webber and a Quartermaine. Founding families of this show. And you CANNOT tell me that the ratings were bad or low when these two were a potential (I say potential because this couple was NEVER EVER given a chance) couple. Look at the ratings this past year people and compare to this year. This year the majority of weeks below 2.0 when over a year ago, this show was getting 2.1, 2.3 and 2.4's weekly.

Until I hear about changes, I cannot watch. It saddens me what this honored and once respected show has become. I will not continue to support a show or a network that does not listen to its customer or the viewing public. And until I see believable couples and stories I cannot watch.

The writers need to respect the character traits, morals and history and the same can be said for respecting the show history. People will not watch a character and a show that has become a completely different character or show. Thank you for your time and attention.

The character of Liz is what brought me to GH, her rebellion against her sister and tough girl act was relatable, and so when she was raped it really hit home for teenage girls like myself. THen when Lucky stayed by her side patiently I fell in love with that couple. When Lucky "died" it was sooo sad, and I thought there could never be a better romance for Liz, until Jason came along. That was so unexpected and amazing and such a different relationship, especially after both got out of a relationship where they were led around by thier partners after something tragic happened to them physically. Liz and Jason connected after somethign tragic happened to both emotionally. (Liz: Lucky died, Jason: gave up Micheal) and neither one led the other, they took the journeys similtaniously and learned from the others experiences and tales.
For me, these were the only love stories I saw for Liz, her other partners (Zander, Ric, the multiple Lucky recasts and now Nic) have never been believable love stories, just plot points and use of an actress to either gain new actors a spot on the canvas or a holding pattern.
Unfortunatly, the love of Liz and Lucky was over years ago, I only wish the actual love story of Liz and Jason could get the middle told, all the starts and stops and disappointment of the fans has me growing more and more disinterested in GH. The character fans related to and empathized with is being shallowed and written more and more like the trashy characters GH has filled the show with in more recent years.

EW is the main reason I started watching this soap about 5-6 yrs ago and she's the reason I still keep up with it even though I rarely ever watch it except on YT.

I'm not a fan of this triangle though I think BH & TC have chemistry to matter how much it is denied. I can appreciate that while not being crazy about this s/l.

I also like JJ he is a really good actor, his looks have nothing to do with his acting abilities his scenes wk 0f 1/18/10 he was good really good. That said their story had been done to death-get over it.

I did like jm when he was with her but his character is a loser in his current re-do pairing just like hers. EW does sizzle with every one as the pictures of those guys show. She even perked up stodgy SBu who never smiles. RH--great actor-misused and they looked dam ned good together-Zander didn't see don't care.

I'm hoping the Spencer/Cassadine War perks her up again-get her a new man not a used one.

EWFF love BH so much--can you tell.

I love seeing Elizabeth Webber on my screen and she has been a favorite since her arrival, but I am not pleased with her current storyline. Unfortunately Liz's romantic history is often dictated and plagued by backstage/executive agendas – rather than organic and character driven stories. Zander, Jason, Ric, Lucky and Nik…GH has been false with the handling of Elizabeth’s relationships with all those men at one time or another.
