Junior-high teachers across the country can expect their students' book reports to feature much more talk about Audrina and Justin-Bobby. That's because Lauren Conrad has signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins to pen a series of young-adult novels based on her own experiences as a young girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show. But who will she base the character on??
"It's definitely influenced by my own life," Lauren told People magazine. "Obviously there are some similarities."
If the "Twilight" books have taught us anything, it's that vampires are totally hot in young-adult fiction right now. But that doesn't mean you should be expecting bloodsuckers Heidi and Spencer as characters in Lauren's books.
Says Lauren: "I'm not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren't really mine to tell. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out."
This marks yet another branching-out for Lauren's career prospects. She's already a reality TV star, aspiring actress, and mover of high-fashion clothes from one rack to another. With "author" added to that list, who knows what's next?
What kind of trouble do you think Lauren and Lo could get up to on a book tour?
