Many of you have already heard reports from around the Internet that Kyle and Oliver (aka Fish) -- the romantic duo played by Brett Claywell and Scott Evans on One Life to Live -- will be exiting the show. We can confirm that this is true. ABC recognizes the special place this coupling holds in many fans hearts, so they've issued the following statement:
"The groundbreaking Kyle/Fish relationship on One Life to Live was embraced by fans both as a great story and a fair and honest reflection of the LGBT community. We're glad their story resonated with the audience, and understand the fans' disappointment now that it has concluded. The show has a history of bringing LGBT stories to the screen -- earning two GLAAD awards in the process -- as well as returning popular characters when they serve the ongoing story. These great characters remain in Llanview, and while there are no immediate plans to advance their story, the door is always open for their return."
The weeks to come -- building up to the conclusion of their story -- are going to be filled with some explosive "Kish" (Kyle and Fish) craziness (in a good way) that puts the couple right at the forefront.
As OLTL has recently shown (paging Kelly Cramer!), never say never to a return ...

I was looking forward to fish and Kyle becoming parents--and as usual--stupidity blew in--and they got rid of the characters. At least they don't jump into bed with everyone like Blair does just to make todd jealous and she so succeedes.
Why does Tea have to leave the show?
I absolutely agree with everything 'mikeoaklandpark' said!!!
The 'Kish' storyline is about the only one of ANY interest anymore and had the potential to go a long way. There was FINALLY a gay plot line that the writers didn't stupidly screw up by having someone cheat with the opposite sex. Until 'Kish', soap watchers were given the impression that ALL gays will jump on anything with a pulse. Just not even close to reality.
If they think all the conservative, self-righteous homophobes are their core demographic, they are wrong. Why is it that the right wing viewers are SOOO against a gay, loving, monogamous relationship, but have NO problems with all the murders, cheating and especially the story line of Mitch basically playing Jesus. I guess that fits in more with their lifestyle!?!? I just don't understand the logic behind removing the one interesting storyline remaining.
Sad to see ABC cave yet again!
I agree with you 100%. Keep them or bring them back in the future.
Absolutely stupid move!!! These 2 are my favorites ESPECIALLY now that they got Sierra Rose. STUPID!!!!
My posts don't seem to be posting for some reason. Well, the first one was fairly long. I'll just boil it down. OLTL: I started watching theyear the AIDS quilt came to Llanview. I will quit watching this week, when Kyle and Oliver leave the show. OLTL has done a lot of stupid things over the years, but this one takes the cake. Two characters who are actually in love and committed, and who don't (like Blair et al) sleep with everybody and who rip off their clothes every time someone sneezes.
Goodbye, Kish. Goodbye OLTL. I'll have an extra hour a day to read a book.
My apologies if the other posts eventually show up.

So glad Kish is being cancelled because now I can QUIT watching OLTL, which has periodically been the stupidest program on tv. I've watched it since Ryan Phillipe played a gay teen, so far as I could tell the only gay person in Llanview. Well, he left to become an E. priest and was never heard from again. The only other gays I recall were Marci's brother and his partner, who were seldom seen. Just as I was ready to wash may hands of it, for good this time, despairing of ever again seeing a gay person in Llanview, the Kish story began. What a breath of fresh air!
At last, two characters to care about, with a decent (in every way) storyline, two people over the age of consent who weren't shedding clothes the way politicians shed ethics, who weren't bed-hopping, and having sex day in and day out. They were, in fact, the only characters worth watching except for Starr. Oh, and Charlie. David Vickers is a good character whose storylines have become increasingly moronic.
I have come to detest Dorian; the lesbian thing was as insulting to lesbians as the Buddhist thing was to Buddhists. Viki's acting range consists of frowning and shaking her head. How has this woman won Emmys? I lost interest in Todd after the original left; the new one's pretty but...boring. I am totally sick of Blair bedding every good-looking man within reach but inevitably going back to Todd. Why hasn't she got AIDS or some other STD? I'm sick of fathers not really being fathers to the people everyone thinks. I'm totally sick of Mitch. Well, I'm just sick of the whole stupid thing and let's not mention the overacting.
I watched it all these years just hoping it would redeem itself. It did, sometimes. But not often enough to continue.
So now that the only good characters have been axed, it's bye-bye OLTL. The homophobes can have it. I will now have an extra hour every day.
