Kurt costarred on Guiding Light from 1994 to 2000, and then again from 2005 to '09.

First, former Guiding Light star Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan) joined the cast of As The World Turns as the mysterious Mick ... then it was announced that his GL costar Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Bill) will join Tom in Oakdale as Chris (we're hoping that's Dr. Chris Hughes -- but his character is still under wraps). Now, that pair will be a trio: Soap Opera Digest has announced that Kurt McKinney, Springfield's former denizen Matt, will join ATWT in late February for a short stint.

Kurt will play Ellis -- a super-shady business partner of Craig's ... which means he'll also be directly involved with Carly, whom Craig just convinced to go back into business with him (provided she stay sober, of course). Hmm ... wonder if this Ellis guy will throw a big ol' monkey wrench into Craig and Carly's plans. (It's a safe bet -- this is Oakdale we're talking about!)

Before Guiding Light, Kurt originated the role of Ned Ashton on General Hospital from 1988-1991 ... and also guest-starred on two episodes of Gimme a Break! with Nell Carter. Which makes us enjoy him all the more.
