Jenny vs. Blair. Dorian vs. Viki. Kelly vs. Brenda. Is there anything better than a good girl grudge?
Of course, what made Kelly and Brenda extra-special-dishy was the fact that their scripted war continued into real life when the cameras stopped rolling. And while they seem to have matured since those days, we're relieved to report that even after a decade-plus of personal growth, there's still a bit of edge to Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty -- the women who made Kelly and Brenda TV's catfight queens (Seriously. Watch SOAPnet's "Beverly Hills, 90210" marathon this Labor Day weekend and reckanize).
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" actresses turned just-plain-"90210" stars spoke to Entertainment Weekly about their past feud, current friendship status, and the most anticipated remake in, well, ever. Read on for excerpts!
On coming back to "90210":
Jennie: "When they told me they were doing it, I thought: No! Like something sort of sacred was being disrupted. Some part of who I was and a piece of my history was being messed with. It took me a while to settle into that idea."
Shannen: "I was kind of like, Why would I play Brenda Walsh again? There was an 'I Hate Brenda' newsletter. Why would I possibly get myself back into that? ... At some point it hit me that this is what the fans wanted. They put a roof over my head. They allow me to eat and to feed my dogs. The only reason I survive is because of them. If there's one way to possibly say thank you, it is to go back and play a character that you never even liked yourself."
