We know Brenda Walsh was never going to win West Beverly's Miss Congeniality award, but we thought she at least had her brother's support. E! reports that when asked about (completely unconfirmed) rumors that Shannen Doherty's character is terminal, Jason Priestley said: "That's fantastic. Wow, that [would be] awesome."
Of course, he means it'd be good TV -- not to mention a story he'd want to direct. Jason, who'll be shooting the 18th episode this season, told E! that producers "haven't given me anything yet," adding, "But I love those rumors. That's juicy stuff."
On the contrary, Jason says he didn't see anything "juicy" in him returning to "90210" as an actor. "There really wasn't anything interesting for me to do as Brandon on that show. As the director who directed the most episodes of the original show, I just had more to offer as a director."
Then again, had HE been revealed as the father of Kelly's son, things might have turned out differently. He told E!, "If that was Brandon's child, I think Brandon probably would have stuck around. I would hope so, anyway."
He always was the good guy!
Jason guest stars on an episode of "My Name is Earl," this Thursday night.
What do you think about rumors of Brenda's demise?
