Heidi Gets Her Groove On

There's so much going on with Heidi Montag, we're not sure where to start.

The "Hills" star and aspiring singer just put her second single up for digital download. The song, "No More," is all about the drama of a broken relationship. (Think it has anything to do with problematic fiance Spencer Pratt?)

Heidi's first single, "Higher," hit the Internet in February. The video -- directed by Spencer -- featured her in a sensible pink bikini, lying in the sand and playing on the rocks. A lot. We're not sure what the "No More" video will be like -- if she makes one.

'Feminist Hero'?

But the wild story about Heidi is ... she's a feminist hero! At least, New York Times television critic Ginia Bellafante says so. "Defying our expectations, Heidi has emerged as a kind of feminist hero this season," Ginia writes, "climbing her way to a bigger position at the event-planning company where she orchestrates NASCAR parties, and refusing to acquiesce to the demands of her fiance ... that she get herself home on time."

Great points. Ginia even sort of makes "The Hills" sound like "Masterpiece Theatre." We mean, how could you call Heidi's statement "This isn't, like, Spencer's relationship and you decide what we do" as anything but "a groundswell of self-assertion"?

Do you think of Heidi as a feminist hero? Or hardly feminist at all?
