Gwen & Will Back to Oakdale

Here are Will and Gwen in less-than-happy times. Hopefully it's a joyous occasion that brings them back to town ...

There's great news out of Oakdale: fan favorite As The World Turns couple Gwen (three-time Emmy winner Jennifer Landon) and Will Munson (Jesse Soffer) are coming back to the show! According to CBS Soaps in Depth, the pair is slated to return to the show's set in April -- which means they'll probably start airing this May.

When last seen in 2008, Gwen and Will had gone through a nasty custody battle over their adopted daughter/niece Hallie -- who was actually the biological child of Sofie Duran and Gwen's half brother Cole. After much consternation (which included a guilt-ridden Gwen giving Hallie back), Sofie realized her daughter was much better off with the Munsons ... and eventually, the trio left Oakdale to start a new life together.

Wonder what brings Gwen and Will back to town? We know Frannie Hughes (Oscar®-nominated actress Julianne Moore) is coming back for a big party ... we imagine we'll see a lot of familiar faces returning to the canvas before September.

Keep checking SOAPnet.com for more info on the Munsons' return to Oakdale as it becomes available.

Any guesses as to why they're coming to town? Sound off in the comments below.

Why doesn't SoapNet pick up ATWT all of us fans would gladly follow. I have watched GL and ATWT all my life. They have been a part of my family for 6 generations. I will gladly block CBS from my TV and switch to another channel that doesn't think we all want to sit and watch game shows. There has to be help out there somewhere. Let's all keep faith that help will arrive in time.

What is CBS thinking about? Everybody i know watches CBS Soaps. I was upset when they took off Guiding Light. Now they want to cancel ATWT. What about they other soaps like GH, OLTL, AMC. They are not taking those soaps off. Leave CBS soaps alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely thrilled that Gwen and Wil are coming back. They were a very popular couple and I can't wait. Hope they stay for quite awhile. Welcome back Gwen and Wil.....

I think the old stars are coming back because someone thats well liked or well hated will die before the last air date, and their will be at least two weddings, before the last air date for as the world turns ends.

CBS really needs to pull it together, I have not watched a cbs soap since the cancellation of guiding light... i mean come on folks .. a little less reality shows. and concentrate on what has been around much longer... as far as the reality shows they are so unreal to me.. I must confess... so much in tv has changed that i quit watching along time ago.. very rare for me to sit and watch a show..

I'm not to happy with CBS. First they cancel Guiding Light and now ATWT. Not sure how much more I can take!! If they get rid of Y & R or B & B, I will never watch CBS again!! And I may boycott every product advertised on CBS!!

CBS YOU SUCK!!

Hey, is ATWT still cancelled? I hate that they are going off the air! I guess we (the fans) need to speak out more to the CBS execs. It's not to late, right!!
