"General Hospital": Week in Review for July 27, 2009

John Ingle, Natalia Livingston, "General Hospital"Funniest Moment: Oh, those quotable Quartermaines! Things on "General Hospital" are always funnier when the Qs are up in each other's business. And this week, not only did we get the usual Tracy/Edward/Monica bickering (though we can't remember if Monica gave her weekly reminder of just who owns that damn mansion), but it also brought Alice back into our lives. Where she belongs. Anyway, on to the barbed comments. Tracy kicked things off with some casual sniping at the usual targets, when Edward reminded her of the young'uns he's been gathering to stay at the mansion (and seriously, is Edward planning a second career as a boarding school headmaster ... ooh, spinoff idea!). On the subject of Michael and Rebecca, Tracy quipped: "He's a punk, she's a con." Hey, rude or not, we can't exactly say she's lying.

Edward kept the quotables rolling later in the week, after he and Rebecca were mistakenly thrown in jail. After Nikolas came to bail them out -- and convince Rebecca to think better of her new living arrangement -- Edward warned him not to try to "woo her back to your Gothic rockpile." Edward, we tip our fashionable newsboy cap to you.

I love Jason and Sam together, they are to much alike. Jason and elizabeth are way to different to be together.

I do not care to see JaSam together again, while Jason's character has grown over the years, I do not believe that he would ever get close to the person that watched his son get kidnapped. Look at all of the loyalty and love his has shown and still shows towards Michael, do you think he would let anyone hurt Michael? NO! .. he would never allow anyone to have that opportunity again. While Sam may have changed and repents, some things aren't forgettable enough to be able to re-establish the intimacy and romance again. I could see them being social but not close nor see Jason trusting her again. Jason has always had a connection with Elizabeth that gets played up here and there, until the past years. I was worried when the writer' strike happened what it would do to the story line, I guess I should be thankful or we never would have had any Liason at all. I hope GH fixes this and give Jason a real chance at happiness and a family of his own, you know he would do anything to protect them and will see it through. Sonny and Carly had their turn, give Jason his with Elizabeth!

The decision makers at ABC, who thought breaking up Liz and Jason was a good idea, destroyed a wonderful opportunity to create a love story to rival the supercouple (lovestories) of the 80s and 90s. Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst are magical together. The have created two characters whose evolving relationship and love has made me laugh, cry, sigh, and shout at my t.v. I have missed watching Jason and Liz together. I hope that Mr. Burton and Ms. Herbst have the opportunity to portray the wonderful love story that Jason and Liz deserve.

In the past few years, the viewer has had to go through vile and nasty women being whitewashed, the pizza virus storyline, the bio-toxin story, the never completed Russians storyline and so much more that was just dropped for no reason.

I hope General Hospital will move Jason from Sam's orbit because Jason should be with Elizabeth and Cam and Jake they are his family. The REAL Jason would NEVER be anywhere near the woman who watched his son get kidnapped & said nothing, who hired two men with guns to terrorize Elizabeth and the boys to keep them away from Jason and so, so, much more.

Why GH doesn’t realize what it has right in front of them. Jason and Elizabeth (a Quartermaine and a Hardy-Webber – Historic families of GH). This pair has kept me watching for the past 10+ yrs. I have hoped for a believable love story for them. After 10 years I thought they would finally become a couple. What happened eight months ago was so obvious, so inconceivable. This couple IS the history AND the future of General Hospital. Everything is there friendship, respect, trust, history, romance and love, ALL BELIEABLE.

The actors, Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst, who portray Jason and Elizabeth are friends in real life. They respect and care for one another and it shows on screen. They have an undeniable chemistry that I have never seen before and doubt I ever will again.

This show needs to get back to the basics and back to its history. A history that has been ignored and re-written for the past 8 month. It will be the show’s loss if they continue down the path of the unbelievable and awful stories they have had for the past eight months. I pray that the show wakes up and realizes what they could have with Jason and Elizabeth, Jax and Carly and Robin and Patrick. Core couples, REAL Romance and Love and Real Drama.
Thank you

IA. I am a Jason fan first and this week's Jasam scenes were very well done and made me interested in tuning in day after day.

Im so excited for Jason to have a storyline again. And Jason and Sam make sense. GH was very good last week across the board. Im looking forward to next week.

If Jason Morgan is going to "reunite" with anyone that he loves, it can ONLY be Elizabeth Webber. They are not together today, not because they fell out of love, grew estranged or even fought over their different lifestyles. They are not together because of the "danger" - real and perceived - to their son.

They did not break up because they stopped loving each other. I would assume that the longing and self-deprivation would only serve to make the feelings deeper and stronger. Such is the way of the forbidden fruit.

Until this whole "danger-danger" argument is laid to rest for once and for all - with Jason and Elizabeth together as a couple - no other woman in his life can be perceived as being important to him or loved by him. If he allows another woman to be romantically involved with him - and does NOT use the danger argument, it can only be deduced that he has no real emotional attachment to her. ie: he doesn't care enough about her to want to keep her safe.

The idea that the danger only applies to Elizabeth (and by extension her children) is ludicrous. Jason has no issue "mannying" all the other children in town, allowing Spinelli to continue to live with him, Maxie Jones to come and go as she pleases around him, Robin AND her infant daughter, Carly and her brood, Monica, and lately the supposed "ride or die" person - who by the way can't even manage to keep herself safe on her own, so should be excluded due to double jeopardy if we are using the "danger danger" mantra.

I ONLY want to see Jason and Elizabeth finally get their story. They had a beginning - 10 years ago this August, and they had an end - a pathetic 28 second goodbye that was ludicrous in its very nature. Their story still begs to be told and I will not be happy until it is.

So yes, I do want to see Jason with someone other than the person in your inquiry. The mate to his soul : Elizabeth Webber.
