"General Hospital": Week in Review

JOLIVIA!It's that time again, you guys. Time to run down what a week on "General Hospital" brought us: gunfire, political scandal, slapping, back tattoos, the disappearance of Ric's evil goatee, Matt Hunter's Twitter page, Lando Calrissian in a business suit, and nightmare visions of Emily Quartermaine with some serious hair extensions. And then, on Friday, two bombshells: Alexis had an affair with Mayor Floyd ... who's been arrested! And Carly wants Michael to live with the Quartermaines! For the rest of our favorite moments this week, read on ...

Funniest Moment: This won't be the last time we mention Dominic's weeklong game of shirtless hide-and-seek, but the funniest part was when Claudia -- freaking out over what she's going to do with the hitman she hired to kill Jason hanging out in Sonny's house -- spontaneously grabbed the nearest pillow and quickly tried to smother him. Only after about three seconds, she gave up. Claudia, what's up with the lack of stick-to-itiveness? Don't tell us it's a lack of upper-body strength -- we've seen those arms! Nevertheless, it was the exasperation on Claudia's face that made us laugh. It said, "Ay yi yi, I can't even KILL this guy! How am I gonna get rid of him?" Not for nothing, Claud, but we're kind of glad he stuck around.

WTH? Moment: Originally, we were going to use this space to talk, once again, about Sonny's phenomenally poor parenting skills. We mean, he actually told Alexis he didn't have a problem with Michael and Kristina being in a bar at ages 16 and 17! Now, there's a decent chance that Sonny was only saying that to be contrary to Alexis (he does that), so we'll give him a pass. For that particular sentence. He's still a pretty crappy father. So instead, we'll turn our WTH in the direction of ... well, Alexis! Obviously, we love Alexis, but we had to despair a bit as Alexis forged ahead in what appears to be her lifelong mission to make everybody in Port Charles hate her. This week, she was winning friends and influencing people in the Corinthos house, earning the ire of Michael and Claudia, making her one daughter (Kristina) think she doesn't like her, and even getting parental criticism from her OTHER daughter (Sam). Then again, Claudia's an attempted murderess, Michael's a brain-damaged brat, and Alexis gets to be besties with Diane Miller. Guess who gets the better part of that deal?
