We love cooking shows. Mostly because we love to eat, and they hold the promise that, one day, if we tried hard enough (and cleaned our kitchen), we could start cooking truly mouth-watering meals too. It's sort of inspirational, except we never get off our butts to do anything. But a new show, "The Chef Jeff Project," debuting October 12 on the Food Network, may change that.
The show follows Chef Jeff Henderson, a former inmate turned executive chef. The basic premise has Jeff taking six struggling young adults and trying to help them improve themselves. The six will work at Jeff's catering company, Posh Urban Cuisine. During the whole process, they are coached on various ways to improve their life: appearance, attitude, motivation, et cetera -- all under the leadership of Chef Jeff, who is basically a self-made man.
