General Hospital Recasts Michael
Breaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.
ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.
We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.
Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

Michael is a beloved character. Of course it was going to take time for viewers to accept Drew. Michael has a catalyst for many story lines, and causing trouble for Jason, Carly and Sonny. And also keeping those around him honest and on their toes So OK PRODUCERS, PUT AWAY YOUR LITTLE NOTES YOU LIKE TO SEND!!! LISTEN TO YOUR VIEWERS !
I have never agreed with the replacement of Dylan Cash and I still want him back. But I agree this "new" Michael doesn't fit the bill! Drew was Just beginning to get his groove and a feel for Michael's spirit. So I say again......

I was just beginning to accept drew. and now this!I don't know why they just don't bring back dylan! That is if he wants to come back. Dylan could bring more to the role. Than any other actor. Replacing Dylan Cash was stupid!!!
OMG!!! WHY????????? I love Drew how could they replace him...he plays the part of Michael wonderfully. This is very upsetting and I dont like it one bit!!!!!!!!!!!

This kid looks like a wimp. Just by putting their pictures side by side, you can see which one fits the Michael charater better. Boo
One of the worst decisions they've ever made, Drew Garrett is great and he has been great playing Michael, a lot of people like him and DON'T WANT TO SEE HIM GO!!! please ABC/GH don't let him go! your show's ratings will GO DOWN, that's for sure, no matter hoy many characters you're bringing to the show, DREW is MICHAEL!!
This is crazy-- I'm looking at this new Michael and he is definitely not the one. Drew made a great Michael and played brilliantly against Carly, Jason and Sonny. This new guy looks out of place and gawky and certainly doesn't embody the Michael we've come to know!!! ABC listen to your fans and undo this wrong!!!!!!!
I really don't understand why GH is replacing this Michael. Drew Garrett is a wonderful actor and very believable as Michael. This new actor needs to go to Disneyland and get a job. He doesn't look the part and I for one don't want to see him play the part. Keep Drew as Michael. A lot of people feel the same way as I do. A lot of people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
