General Hospital Recasts Michael
Breaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.
ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.
We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.
Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

Yeah please keep Drew I think he was just right!
Drew was awesome, because he could hold his own with Steve, Maurice, and Laura...and why on earth do this in the middle of a major storyline arc?
hmm... Not sure just what happened there but Drew was a great fit as Michael. Now we will have to see how Chad plans to make the role his own won't we? Give the guy a chance folks who knows? He might be just fine....
Drew WAS Michael !!!! Whatever the powers-that-be are thinking, I cannot even begin to understand ????!?!???? He did a great job, and had chemestry with everyone on the show. I just don't understand. Getting rid of the Michael that Drew replaced, yes. THAT was a good decision !!! But, well, you get paid to make the big desisions, so....we'll see !!!!

I just will not watch now.It would be one thing if the show went off the air BUT ITS KILLING ITSELF they fired DREW GARRETT!
i think drew plays michael well not sure how ill feel about the new kid i really hate recasts!!! they almost ruin the show and character for instance when alexa havins was replaced on AMC the new babe was horrible! and when rebecca buddig was temporarily recastedit was awful although sabine singh did do her best but she wasnt the true greenlee!! now with drew so very disappointed! tisk tisk GH execs
I love gh. what is going on? why the change of michael and morgan. they do their parts great and i hope the new guy can to michaels role justice. we will see
Changing Michael is so very wrong!!! Sometimes I think that the writers are convinced that the viewing public are idiots!! Michael is a perfect and he has matured. The new actor looks like a skinney nerd-something Michael is not!! way to lose viewers.
Replacing Drew at this juncture is completely ridiculous. I read that he was called into the exec office and told there were going in a different direction with out him. What?!? Are u serious? I must say the wrong direction is to replace this fabulous actor and ruin this family dynamic. Please tell me you have reconsidered. Please tell me I can see Drew continue in this role. I am so disappointed I can not fully express my feelings with out bad words. Reconsider GH ptb. Reconsider.
