General Hospital Recasts Michael
Breaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.
ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.
We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.
Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

Big mistake GH! Drew was perfect as Michael and you replace him! Too bad GH doesn't listen to it's viewers! And to do it in the middle of the trial????? What are they thinking?
i'm very disappointed that Drew Garrett was replace with chad duell .Garrett did an execellent job as michael. BAD MOVE GH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was to my suprise mad about the Michael switch I did not like the new michael, I got to know and feel for the old one then GH flipped it on me, do not like ill give him a while but if I can't deal ill have to stop watching!!

I realize this comment or letter will only be seen by fans,it was really sad to see the old,Michael on Friday
then on tuesday a new one.
Since a new one was put on I can only guess money contracts was a issue,because his acting was really good .
What I do realize Gh will not care about our opion they will continue to do what they want.
What I would I would say to the rest of the cast is watch your back or they will replace you to.

I REALLY THINK THIS IS A BAD MOVE ON G H PART..BUT WILL SOME ONE "PLEASE" TELL US WHY THEY TOOK OFF DREW GARETT? HE IS THE BEST FOR THE PART OF MICHEAL..I DID NOT LIKE THIS NEW ACTOR AT ALL TODAY WHEN I SAW HIM PLAY THIS PART AND THEN THEY DIDN'T EVEN LET DREW FINISH OFF HIS STORY LINE....BAD , BAD, BAD.....AT LEAST TELL US WHY HE HAD TO GO !!!!
Why did they change Michael? He was a great actor and I liked him as Michael. Now they do it again. Why?
What is going on? First Lucky and now this. I can't believe that Drew Garrett has been replaced. General Hospital got better when they added him to the cast as Michael Corintos. I actually enjoyed the episodes more when he was part of them cause he added so much fire to his role and he portrayed excellent chemistry with Maurice Benard who plays his father Sonny. He will be missed. Why is it all the actors I take a liking to seem to never stick around? I wish Drew the best in any future endeavors. He will always be the best Michael Corinthos III to hit the screen in my eyes.
Am I the only one who is REALLY pissed off about this Micheal recast on GH????
