General Hospital Recasts Michael

Chad Duell is the new Michael CorinthosBreaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.

 

ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.

 

We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."

 

Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.

 

Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

If the powers that be are not smart enough to keep the original Michael and are now firing Drew, they are not smart enough to know the audience does not like this stuff.

Someone explain to me what idiot has decided to fire Drew Garrett? If we cannot have the original, he is doing a bang up job. Oh, I know, this new person is someones son, best friend, nephew, whatever, so we have to suffer through someones stupid decision.

As for the remark about Greg Vaughn, he cannot even come close to the original an I am so happy to have him back!

It took me awhile to get used to the new Michael and now another one,I was just getting used to Drew.

I to was prepared not to like the new Michael but I did & now he is leaving. I just wish they would wrap this storyline up & Michael would grow up a little & stop acting like a spoiled brat. I wish them both all the best

Why is Drew leaving? Why don't they bring back the original Michael? The red head kid. I liked him. And he was on there for along time. Why do they keep changing Micheal's??

Sorry, I won't be on the edge of my seat watching Sonny and the (new) Michael trying to hide Claudia's murder....can they drag this boring storyline out any longer?? Can they add more boring, shallow new characters? Can they make Liz look more loopy? Give her back the backbone and chutzpah she used to have years ago -- she was so much fun to watch! How about developing better and more romantic storylines for the great characters they've never fully explored?? Ugh...........

Bring back the original Michael. We watched him grow up on the show and he was an outstanding young talent.

I liked the character of Micheal...it is always tough to get used to a new face. Hopefully they grow him a little, maybe not so whiney and predictable...

WTFREAK GENERAL HOSPITAL?! Drew Garret was hot! Ugh...why must they do this so often...he just got into the new beginning credits also! sheesh people.
