General Hospital Recasts Michael

Chad Duell is the new Michael CorinthosBreaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.

 

ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.

 

We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."

 

Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.

 

Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

I agree, Drew was a GREAT Michael!! he has the attitude down perfect and totally looks like a young Jason. Big Mistake to recast!

I'm pretty sure that IDIOT is Jill Farren Phelps. She is the same IDIOT (I can't call her what I really want to call her on here) that got rid of Billy Warlock (AJ Quatermaine).

Maybe Drew will go onto One Life to Live, he could be C.J. (Tina and Cord's son) you know he had blonde hair. But I rather he stay at GH as Michael.

Yeah, I love Drew Garrett, GH is making a horrible mistake and it will come back to bite them in A**&*. They need to keep Drew because this Chad Duell looks entirely too young. The producers or whoever is in charge of firing and hiring the actors/actresses really need to see why they haven't been winning a lot like they use to, I've tried writing them to be a part of their writing team myself and I get no where. Well their loss. Kristina is getting on my last nerve, I just want to hit her. I mean did anyone in Port Charles bother to take a look at Ethan's hands because if he did all that, his hands would be bruised. I can't stand Sonny.

Drew plays a great Michael!! He really has that roll down and you can tell he understand how Michael should be played. Its a mistake letting this one go. Just sayin :)

Unfortunately, Drew did not leave on his own accord. Between his inability to grow as an actor and not getting along with others on the set, this was Drew Garrett's destiny. The Casting directors wanted someone who could grow into the character Michael Corinthos is destined to become. This is something they see in Chad Duell and I agree with them.

well that just sux... I love Drew and he plays an excellent Michael. I'm very dissapointed!! I'm not gona like this new kid they're bringing in :(

i dont like the idea of the recast, gh is wrong for doing this. Drew was doing a good job portraying the impulsive nature that he would inherit from his mom & the looks of a Quartermaine
