General Hospital Recasts Michael
Breaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.
ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.
We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.
Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

I can't believe they're recasting this role. When Drew can on the show, the first thing I thought is where did they find him, he's an amazing actor. He's handsome, edgy and a perfect Michael. He really brought this character to life. Hopefully he left on his own. Otherwise, bad move GH.

I love Drew, even though he runs off at the mouth alot. I really wanted to see Michael beat up Kiefer sorry behind. They shouldn't take him out until that happens. Drew will be missed.
I think Drew is doing a FANTASTIC job in this role!! Switching actors constantly doesn't give the fans a chance to really get into a character. Aren't Soaps supposed to be FOR the fans? Then why don't WE ever get any say-so?
Just when I was getting used to Michael going from 13 to sixteen in one year, they bring in a third guy to play him. What happened to aging the kids normally on the show? I guess Michael will be 18 by the end of the summer. Such B.S.!

I cannot believe that GH is recasting Michael. Drew has done a great job. Don't know if I can accept a new Michael. Hopefully though they will update the opening of the show sooner then they did in the past because in the old opening it showed old cast members who had left the show.
I'm glad TIIC are getting rid of the actor that plays Michael now! I never did like the way he played Michael! He got on my last nerve! Alway blabbing off his mouth! Being a stupid little punk! Can't stand him! so glad he'll finally be gone!
I absolutely loved Drew Garrett as Michael!! He is one of the most handsome actors I have seen on the daytime soaps for his age...and I was looking forward to watching him grow into his looks even more as he gets older!! Bummer!! Why? The only reason I will accept is if Drew asked to be let out of the show for better opportunities, but I doubt if that's the reason since it wasn't stated as such. He is a GREAT actor...I can't wait each day for the scenes he is in...Boo Hoo!!
